What are your predictions for October?

Odd.

Recommended Posts

So these are my predictions: We have 11 games in October and I think we'll come off strong like previous years and then start to come back down to earth.

Edmonton: W in OT

Ottawa: W

Winnipeg: OTL

Calgary: W in OT

Ottawa: L

Boston: L

Buffalo: OTL

Detroit: W

Minnesota: SOL

Washington: L

Dallas: W

Our record: 5-3-3

Points wise: Boeser has 7 points including 4 goals, Sedins have 5 points, Horvat, Granlund with 4 points, Virtanen with 3 points, and Baertschi with 3. Stecher leads all defenseman with 3 points.

Markstrom with 4 wins and 2 losses, 1 OTL meanwhile Nilsson has 1 wins and 1 loss in regulation, and 2 OTL.

So 5-5-1. I think the road trip to start the year will be pretty tough, but we still can win some games for sure.

Don't forget

- An overwhellming sense of rage at the words "Pumpkin spice"

- Craving hot turkey sammies

- Regretting second plates

Oh, and making the kids decide on a Halloween costume will be as painful as october reffing

im optimistic about this group after the preseason, but ultimately it's a crap shoot to predict them at this stage.

If if they get some solid and consistent goaltending they'll be .500 or better.  I think the forward depth of this club is as good as I can remember.  Still missing the top end talent, but group production should be a strength for this team.   Special teams will be improved and I think they'll fair better in shootouts.

Again the Achilles Heel for them is the strength of net minding.  If Marky Mark has a standout campaign and boldly becomes a true #1, this team could realistically find themselves in a playoff spot come June.
