Roberts
Quote Head coach Bill Peters said Staal and Faulk will alternate wearing the "C" between home and road games, while forward Jeff Skinner will serve as an assistant captain all season. The Hurricanes have been without a captain since the departure of Jordan's brother Eric Staal in 2015. Since the team moved from Hartford to Carolina, the captaincy has also been held by Rod Brind'Amour, Kevin Dineen, Keith Primeau, and current general manager Ron Francis. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/1391099-hurricanes-name-jordan-staal-justin-faulk-co-captains

48MPHSlapShot
Could have just named Jordan captain, changed his jersey number and they could have saved a bit of money instead of having to make a new jersey. #AssetManagement
apollo
They haven't had a captain since 2015?! Now Co Captains... hmmm interesting. Odd, but interesting.
goalie13
Come on Score. It's alternate captain, not assistant. You lose credibility when you say it wrong.
Master Mind
Yet another team that can't just pick a captain. It shouldn't be necessary to name two.

Shift-4
Is it because they didn't have a Maria or Irma on the team?

As much as I love the guy, captaincy lost it's meaning when this happened.
IrishCanuck5
I find this really awkward. If i was either of these players i would relinquish my option for captaincy and just let let the other player have it. True leaders lead whether they have a C or not. I'm just glad we didn't do this with the sedins.
G.K. Chesterton
And not Jeff Skinner? Interesting...
McBackup
Your Captain should be the figurehead of your team, so to speak. If you don't have someone you're ready to give that responsibility to, just hand out A's until you have someone that fits the bill.
