UPDATE 2:

J.T. Brown is done raising his fist, but he's far from finished trying to affect change. On Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning forward provided an update on his efforts in the community since silently protesting during "The Star-Spangled Banner" earlier this month:

Brown became the first NHL player to protest inequality and racial injustice this season when he stood with his fist raised during the singing of the anthem before the Lightning played the Panthers on Oct. 7. He revealed the next day that he'd already started receiving death threats and racial slurs since making the silent statement that he defended postgame as the right decision, adding at the time that he hoped more conversation on the issues would take place.

Wow. It is such a breath of fresh air to see a player actually making change. He knows what he’s fighting for and he’s fighting for it. Correctly. I’m personally not big on the politics in sports, BUT anything that leads to a better world, I am all for. Atta boy JT

Looks like way more than just making a statement.

There you go, move from protesting to change management. Good on him. This separates him from the noise of protesting the establishment.

Key words in there.

Racial Equality. This is often referred to as equality of outcome, not opportunity, when applied to social diversity schemes. This is where affirmative action comes from.

The added benefit for this good man, tax deductions for his charity work. Many folks are into Philanthropy, some get be strategic with their contributions and make it tax deductible. Some need those deductions. Win-win.
