Mattrek
5 hours ago, Jimmy McGill said: could also be for Galchenyuk.... Im hoping Jim gets his revenge on Bergevin for that $50,000 whine fest. I wonder what the actual relief number will be once they add up Edler, Loui and Stecher? And not OJ for Chucky, Sutter though would be a deal I'd make. If you trade Sutter this team will fall apart and no I'm not joking. Jim wasn't kidding when he said the guy was foundational. He has been excellent in his time as a Canuck, but he's deployed defensively so people don't notice him over the Bo's or Boeser's of the line-ups. He's an integral part of our team that shuts down the superstars like Mcdavid. People here seriously don't realize the incredible bargain we have in Sutter for what he does. Never trade him. Why does anyone fear something that has exactly zero evidence of happening? Seriously where is this coming from? From all I've heard out of Gudbranson he loves it here and wants to stay (as he should) so why bother worrying?

Hey I've been a Sutter supporter from the start. I was putting him in the deal as a win-win not because I think he's not valuable. I agree 100% our team defence would take a hit this year if we lost him, but it would also be an opportunity for the Dorsett-Gaunce-Granlund line to see if it can step up into the role. We have to get more actual top 6 skilled scoring wingers into our organization.

No thanks to Galchenyuk to replace Sutter. He's bad on draws and there's a reason he's constantly being demoted down the lineup. Sure he has more offensive skill, but as you said, without Sutter we'd be in heaps of trouble. He takes care of things most people don't notice, and like Dorsett and Granlund there's a reason he's always near the top in TOI. Coaches play the guys they trust, and the ones that get the job done. canuktravella
ok all these rumours are not happening we arent trading juolevi, demko, boeser, horvat or virtanen if we are trading anyone its of our vet core (tanev, sutter, gagner, edler) hutton and baertchi possibly as well but duchene isnt a target hes 27 by the time our teams a contender hes past prime if we can steal galchenyuk by all means do it jimi but not at the cost of kids or picks. gally is bad on faceoffs but good on offense if im jim id put him as a winger a trade of tanev and baertchi for gally and a 1st and 3rd
