Oh please we had Carolina-Edmonton in the final with no issues which is literally the worst possible finals for the league. On topic no thanks I never want to see the leafs in the finals against anyone as I'd rather not let them have even a shot at winning the cup. Toronto voted no and blocked Vancouver from entering the league in 67, so f the leafs and enjoy being cupless since 67.

The new rink downtown will be the resurgence of the sens fan base. Right now it's like if the "Vancouver" Canucks played in Chilliwack. It will be like Winnipeg though. Not too much corporate money and whole lot of middle class passion.

You posted this in a way that makes it sounds like a new rink is already being built, rather than an idea a few fans and media have, that might keep the team in Ottawa? If the rink location is the true problem with getting people into the seats, then perhaps Melnyk should tone down the guilt trip on the fanbase. Canada Hockey Place
I was watching this video earlier. A re-broadcast of Leafs vs. Canucks from Oct 11, 1970, (Canucks 2nd game ever/Leafs season opener).

More than an idea but probably about 3 or 4 years from being built. The Melnyk development proposal was adopted by the City. Now it's about details.
