Tough, smart, and a team first guy. Pretty cool to see. Hope he keeps that up and helps them win a round in the playoffs. I think they'll get in.

Agree, really nice to see. 19-20 mins per game sitting at +5 he's doing exactly what VGK picked him to do.

He was a good defence man here last season.  Problem was he sucked the first year and a bit, and after that people had been on the "Sbisa Sucks" bandwagon for too long to notice how much better he was playing.

Him doing well comes as no real surprise.

This exactly.

The last years and a half here, Sbisa was easily one of our best dmen.

He stepped up huge with all the injuries.

The sheep in town could never get over his first bad season and his contract, which was more than fair for the last 2 seasons.

Ehrhoff is another example ..or Edler

I remember Vancouver fans loving Ehrhoff (unless you are talking about San Jose fans), but were sour grapes about his comment of "wanting to win" after signing for huge money on a mediocre Sabers team.

Sbisa was pretty good last year, starting to earn his money. I really like our D this year though, we really got some guys who can skate and move the puck: Del Zotto, Stecher, Hutton, Pouliot. Gudbranson and Sbisa are pretty similar, but Gudbranson fights and is bigger.

In short, I would definitely not mind Sbisa on our team but not really sad he is gone either, especially if it means giving a guy like Pouliot a chance or signing Del Zotto who has been much better for us than Sbisa was.

the errorhoff talk in vancouver came up before he signed this ridicoulus contract. on these boards ...he was one of the scapegoats why we didnt  won the cup 2011  if i ´m correct.

the following season ....  his numbers dropped and more fans jumped on the anti ehrhoff bandwagon

Sbisa is just another victim of the fact that this team doesn't really have anyone the belongs in a top pairing role.

Sbisa and Edler get hit the hardest because they are often asked to play roles way beyond their ability and then fans get pissy when they make mistakes.

Would you be upset at a five year old for crashing their parents' car? No. You'd blame the parents for expecting their five year old to drive the car without making mistakes.

It is too bad Vegas picked him up. I feel it was hard for a lot of players to play in Willie D system. Really wanted to see what he could do under Green. He was a good d-man for a lot of his time here

He finished 6th in Norris voting that year. In the playoffs he had 19 points in 35 games overall. I remember a lot of reasons why we didn't win the cup - the main culprit being the Bruins allowed to get away with murder on the ice and the Canucks getting called equally for penalties. Also injuries, Luongo's goaltending, Tim Thomas' goaltending, and just mentally destroying the Canucks (IE Sedin standing there getting punched in the face by Marchand). Also Hamhuis who was our top shut down defenseman getting injured in Game 1 was also huge. Many believe that the Rome hit also gave the Bruins momentum. Ehrhoff wasn't great, but I don't remember him being a scapegoat. He turtled against McQuaid - which was probably the smart thing to do.
