not only that we have to many players that have played to many NHL games in the minors so we have to keep them playing in and out so why not call one or two up when we can??

n(N)ot only that we have too many players that have played too many NHL games in the minors so we have to keep them playing in and out so why not call one or two up when we can??

It's really not that difficult to distinguish when to use either version of too/to. The rest of your sentence is over extended, badly constructed and lacks punctuation but that's for another day.::D

Too

(1) Too means as well. For example:

  • Your eye is swollen. Your lip is swollen too.

(2) Too conveys the idea of in excess. For example:

  • Your cat is too fat.

To

(1) To is a preposition. For example:

  • Give it to him.

(2) To shows the infinitive form of a verb. For example:

  • I want to run.

On a totally different topic, there's only one "O" in lose not two.

This episode brought to you by the letter "C".
