Looking to the past is a method of avoiding the same mistakes in the future, at east it should be. There is no hockey university degree given so the only was to learn is either trial and error or looking at the past to find mistakes and trying to not repeat them.

Jesus, learn to count!  You said it would take 'several' more years.  Several means at least three.  Benning started getting his high picks in 2014.  2014 to now is 4 years (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017).  Add those four to the (at least) three more - and that equals 7.  Minimum.
