Edmonton lost 8-2. It makes me happy to see that team get destroyed, but on the other hand, I worry that we will see the repeat of 2015 draft lottery and they get Dahlin.

I get this feeling that Chiarelli is not doing anything update the roster because he wants to tank and get a chance to draft a top defenceman. Next year's draft seems aplenty of high caliber dmen.

They lost 8-3

I'd 8 - 3 an Oilers fan right now ;)

Conner "The Savior" "The Next One" McJesus is -8 in his last 3 games.

He also chokes in big games as shown by his playoff and Memorial Cup (Cole Cassels) appearances.

In minor hockey his team won 32 straight games then lost in the league final (not joking).

Embarrassing people mention him as the best player in the world.

:sadno::sadno::sadno::sadno:

They can't have Dahlin they just can't. They deserve to draft a bust with the amount of talent they already got and wasted for the past decade. They won't learn the lesson of tanking won't work until they draft a bust, lose again the following year and rumours of McDavid wants out. That's what they deserve.

The Oilers are so slow it's not even funny. What do you do when you draft the fastest player in the league? Anchor him with a bunch of slugs. It's no wonder they can't score goals or play consistent defence when most of their forwards have no speed whatsoever.

They better hope Yamamoto and Puljujarvi develop into something special because they have absolutely no depth on the wing outside of Draisaitl who normally would be playing centre except they literally have no one else capable of playing with McDavid.

Matthews seems to be the more complete player :o

McJesus has actually never even made it to the Memorial Cup. His team got knocked out be Cassel's Generals in the OHL final.

To be honest, I didn't expect Edmonton to play this poorly. On paper, they look solid. A lot of their depth players looked good last year, I'm not sure if anyone predicted them to be regressing, especially guys like Talbot and Klefbom. What went wrong?

It kinda reminds me of the Colorado avalanche (I think it was 2014-2015 but im too lazy to google right now). They just drafted some nice young players and had an excellent season.  They made the post season and the year after everyone had huge expectations.  They never really met those expectations and floundered ever since.
