[Proposal] acquiring Adam Fox from CGY

Recommended Posts

Calgary is pretty set on their right side D for the next 3 years at least, so they’d probably be willing to give up Adam Fox, a rhd who is putting up a ppg in NCAA, for the right price.

What dies clagary need? Well they don’t trust lack as a backup at all and they have a very weak bottom 6. Anyway canucks can take advantage? One possibility I’ve come up with:

to CGY

Nilsson

Gaunce

Draft pick (not sure which round)

To VAN

Fox

less valuable draft pick

basically we fill a couple of Calgary’s needs, and the draft picks are there to even out value. Other options could be grandlund or gagner instead of Gaunce, depending on what type of player cgy wants.

I have a feeling Fox is untouchable. He is a damn good player, and will play in the NHL for a long time. I would love him in a Vancouver Jersey, but I don't see it as a realistic option. But hey, the Lames gave us granny and baer for scraps, so maybe there is a chance

So, would we get Lack back in the trade? Not much size with this guy (same frame as Stecher), but he can sure put up the points, maybe someone for the PP? Gotta wonder though, will he become a Subban or a Stecher?

I would only take lack if the flames wanted us to, but the Main logic behind the goalie part of the trade is Demko could be the backup. Yeah his small size adds risk to the trade, which is why I only suggest bits and pieces cgy would need, rather than a core player. Midigates our losses

Honestly,

He's a Harvard guy and the Harvard NCAA players are starting to become notorious for playing their 4 years before ditching the team that drafted them to play elsewhere. Just look at Jimmy Vesey, Alex Kerfoot, (and to a lesser extent, Patrick McNally). There's a good chance that Adam plays 4 years at Harvard and then hits free agency... going to the team that is the best for him to make the NHL right away.

He'd be great in Vancouver but, I dont see it.  We've got Adam Gaudette, Will Lockwood, Elias Petterson, Kole Lind, and Jonathan Dahlen in the pipeline so I think we're in good shape for the future, honestly.

What do these guys have to do with attempting to acquire a defenseman?

Fox is a D.

Though I will admit when I entered the thread, I was thinking about Dane Fox

I agree with this post but I will say the Baer trade wasn't for scraps, it's looking like they may have a very good young dman in that trade. As for Granlund that is certainly a win for us.

This probably wouldn't be enticing to Calgary would it? I'm pretty sure Calgary would rather just keep him.
