my definition of ko is different then the one used in the link

bieksa hit him and the guy fell down, got up immediately, linesmen stepped in and separated them

was a decent punch but appeared to simply knock the other guy off balance

falls way short of a ko or a tko or even a very solid punch

but that is a good thing i guess. .cuz blows to the head cause brain damage

and fighting should be banned in the nhl

or at least be penalized by suspensions

they are no different really then other hits/blows to the head the nhl says it is trying to eliminate

i suggest everyone have a read of this

It's like Kev is channeling his good friend Rick. Sorry, I can't remember how to spell his last name.

The Ryper......Rick Rypien.  Quite a story.  God rest his soul.

Bieksa was always a fighter but I think he has been studying the technical aspects recently.  He wants to end fights quickly.  There's a certain element in the league who will take this up and study and train MMA style too.

I don't know what you're going on about there, but that was definitely a very solid punch. It connected with Andreoff's chin cleanly and with enough impact to knock him down. Very solid punch if you ask me.

It is good to see that at age 35, Bieksa still has a lot of fire in his belly; a willing combatant that actually wins more often than not. Props to KB3... or is it KB2 now?

I think Kevin learned how to fight these bigger guys.  He boxes them, using his quicker hands.  If he did the traditional lock up and trade shots, he'd get rag dolled.  There are only a few ex- Canucks I cheer for (Burr, Lou) and Kevin is right up there.  I hope he makes his FRP here in town.
