-Vintage Canuck-
Quote The Montreal Canadiens are looking to deal defenseman Brandon Davidson. The club has sent out an email to all 30 NHL clubs stating it's looking to move the 26-year-old, a source tells Sportsnet's Eric Engels. Davidson has been limited to just 13 games this season, including serving as a healthy scratch during the Canadiens' past three games. He was acquired by the club from the Edmonton Oilers last season, but has failed to find his groove in Montreal, tallying just three assists in 23 games. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/1435543

CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Its kinda cute Montreal is making these small superficial moves like trading Torrey Mitchell and trading for Cracknell, and now trying to move Davidson is going to solve their problems. They still need a top six centre, a mobile top 4 dman that can play with Weber, and a physical player. If they are going to make waves, they are going to have to make a significant move. Price coming back might help a bit, but the glaring problems are still there.

He has $8 million cap space but does nothing with it. He's probably saving it to take a run at Tavares. Habs right now could had a top 3 d-men of Weber, Markov, Sergachev. For someone who prides themselves on defense Habs d really sucks. Bergevin is totally delusional thinking it's better then last yr. He thinks Habs can compete for the cup without top #1 center because teams have won the Cup without one. He publicly stated Toews and Kopitar aren't true #1C's. Yes he really said that. To best honest, I don't believe for a second Price was hurt at all. Something more is going on there especially if you've paid attention to the rumors in Montreal. For all we know he told Bergevin he wants to be traded but will showcase himself in the meantime. Beregin has created such a toxic, circus in Montreal. Molson is complete fool for hiring this clown along with allowing this to continue on for 6+ yrs. You've also the requirement GM and Coach both must be french which totally limits their options turning to retreads.

I sympathize with the general sentiment and view on Bergevin, but the last bit here is pure conspiracy theory. He was doing rehab and lower body work on the ice with a trainer during his time off. No team/player is going to spend hours in fake rehab as part of an absurdly elaborate fake injury. Guy has a history of injuring himself and trying to play through it that game; At this point his knees are held together with duct tape and hope. No need for media and fans only add to the circus with rumors and conjecture.

As much as I'm a critic of Bergevin, moves like this are still part of the job. Montreal has 9 NHL quality D and 7 that are waiver eligible. With Schlemko coming off IR they need to make some sort of move. Mete and Jarebek belong on the ice over Davidson. So they're trying to move him rather than losing him on waivers. N7Nucks
Thought he was a prospect cause I never heard of him. Lol. What’s he worth? A 5th and a throw in player for contract reasons, if that?

oldnews
they should be shopping Drouin....for a guy like Sergachev 10 even strength points in 25 games for Drouin. as advertised. needs to be spoon fed easy 5 on 5 minutes, and pads his stats on the powerplay. Weak underlying numbers. 5.5 million. Do yourselves a favour and fire Bergevin. It'll heal better once the bandaid is ripped off.
The Lock
What they need is a well-balanced team. The sad thing is they've had every opportunity to do just that, and failed to capitalize and become a well-balanced team each and every time. You would think that improving your team in the areas you need it most would be logical over improving on what you don't really need improvement on.
