redhdlois
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it coincidental that the league's sweethearts happen to be playing NYE in Las Vegas, in an afternoon game at that. Or maybe they will be flying home after the game, I dunno, but seems like a nice little perk if they happen to be staying over.

A destination game that doesn't compete with other NYE activities would allow fans to do multiple things there. It's possible the schedule was made with that in mind instead of how much partying the players can do if the game finishes early enough

-Vintage Canuck-
The only reason I could see the Leafs making the playoffs this year is because the teams outside of the top three in the Atlantic Division are doing terrible this year. The Bruins and the Leafs have the same number of points, but the Bruins have fewer games played and why they are second. After the third spot, there is a nine-point difference separating the Leafs and Panthers. The season is still far from over, but the Leafs are sitting in a good spot right now. The Western Conference is much tighter this year compared to the Eastern Conference. The second last team (Canucks) are only six points away from the second wild-card spot. The Oilers are in an identical position right now, so anything could happen as we reach the half-way mark. I guess the good thing about the Oilers making the playoffs is they won't have a chance at Rasmus Dahlin because a player like him is the missing piece for them if they want to compete for the cup. ChuckNORRIS4Cup
No Winter Classic topic.... Anyways not liking the setup with the ice and the sun angles, way to many dark areas from the shade of the stadium.
-Vintage Canuck-
The camera angle is pretty terrible. I have to admit, I enjoy watching Winter Classic games when it snows.

The hype surrounding the Winter Classic has lessened quite significantly over the years which doesn't warrant a separate GDT anymore.

This. I mean for me it isn't exactly the Winter Classic part, it's the fact that it's the same teams over and over. I thoroughly enjoy outdoor games. However I don't feel they should be for ranks but more as an exhibition gimmick. Oh, and pick some different friggin teams.
