Its surprising considering this team was just recently in Game 7 OT in the ECF. Meanwhile it took years of futility for Oilers and Leafs fans to reach this level of frustration. This seems a bit premature even though I do believe that there is no owner worse than Melnyk. He has stripped the Sens organization to its bare bones. He has also said that he is not selling the team, and has threatened relocation. Sens fans now feel even less inclined to give Melnyk their hard earned money. Things have gone toxic in Ottawa and some of their best players are up for contract renewals.

Included a poll for on whether it is appropriate to toss your jersey in such circumstances.

I can certainly empathize with being frustrated with a team's lack of success.....but throwing your jersey on the ice should be an insta-ban, you're-no-longer-allowed-to-be-a-fan action.

Personally, I'd go with the flaming bag of dog poop on Melnyk's doorstep. It's much cheaper and doesn't disrupt a game.

Look up "bad owner" and you'll have a picture of Melnyk.  If it's just incompetence, that's one thing.  This b******* is simply too cheap to bother icing a competitive team.

Maybe your attendance would improve if you bothered trying to be competitive instead of handicapping your own GM, Melnyk.

Cap Friendly says they have $2.3 mill worth of cap space left.

Meant to add, I think Melynk isn't that great an owner or person.

His attack on Cooke because of the accidental cut to Karlsson was extremely  bad.

They couldn't even sell out in the ECF last season.

I feel for Ottawa fans, their team looks like it's in need of a rebuild and they've got what's likely the worst owner in hockey who isn't willing to ante up and ice a competitive team. I'd be frustrated too, though I wouldn't toss my jersey.

Looks like things are gonna get a lot worse for Ottawa before they get any better.

I don't really agree with the poll options completely. I think it's fine to express your disgust by doing something like that, knowing the consequences. Express your discontentment in any legal way you see fit. I'm not sure about anyone deserving anything, but I have no problem with a jersey thrown on the ice, so long as the consequences (losing your jersey, getting kicked out, etc.) are acknowledged and known.

Jersey throwing is for entitled brats, spoiled rich kids and bandwagon fans.

Somebody's parents should've laid down the law when little Jonny threw his first hissy fit, if you ask me.

I'd have dumped my beer on him, and I consider myself a sore loser, but not an undignified sore loser.
