Barzal had five points today. He is now leading all rookies in points with 44.

Barzal: 44 points in 44 games

Boeser: 40 points in 41 games

Even if Barzal ends up with a few more points, hopefully Boeser's goal total will be enough for him to win the Calder.

Boeser was also 2nd in the league in % of goals for the team - would be nice if that's considered.

Phillip Danault was taken off the ice on a stretcher after being struck by a shot from Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara.

The two teams headed to the locker room with 1:37 remaining in the 2nd period, and will pick up where they left off following the intermission.

Mathew Barzal is the first rookie to have two 5+ point games since Marian Stastny did so in 1981-82.

He is also the 7th rookie all-time to do so.

Mathew Barzal - 2017-18
Marian Stastny - 1981-82
Peter Stastny - 1980-81
Anton Stastny - 1980-81
Bryan Trottier - 1975-76
Cy Denneny - 1917-18
Joe Malone (3) - 1917-18
