(Rumour) Canucks listening to offers for Hutton

Is it possible to lower their value below where it already sits?...

Like, seriously, we've got pretty close to the worst defense in the league - who on Earth is going to give us good value for d-men we don't even want?  We aren't getting a bunch of high picks and decent prospects for Guds and Hutton.  We waited a year too long with Hutton and now his value is only a fraction of what it was.  And, guds, well...  We aren't even getting back half of what we paid for him.  Like always, our management falls in love with our players.  We never sell-high, we always wait and sell-low instead.

Would love to disagree.  But you raise some good points.

So keeping him out of the lineup will increase his value?  Not very good asset management by this team once again.

Doubt we'll get much for him. Maybe a third?

Have you seen his play this year? Nothing could hurt his value more than more playing time....

I'm ok with Hutton being moved. There is a pretty mediocre log jam on D. JB needs to put together a package for a high end defender. I wonder if Tyson Barrie would be available still in Col??? For a combination involving Hutton. Tyson could have the Eirhoff effect on Edler allowing him to support the offence from the back end instead of feeling the pressure to be a shooter he could work the 1-3-1 from the back and dish.

I believe there was a time when other teams were saying "would be nice to find our own Ben Hutton". :(

Hutton for Barrie would be a great deal for us, right?

Cue the media barrage dumping on our players and lowering their values.  JB did well with Hanson and Burr.

If that's the case I hope they do. As much as I love Burrows. Ottawa got royally ripped off in that trade.

And Goldobin for Hansen ain't too bad either.

Barrie is youngish and is consistently a top 10 point producer in the NHL. Currently 27pts nearly as many as our top 3 D combined in only 34gp. I like the idea of having

       Boeser

Baertschi Bo Barrie

       Edler

You didn't read the context stated earlier. I think Barrie would have an Eirhoff effect on Edler allowing him to play a supporting role to an offensive D where he excelled previously.

Edler Salo (was amazing)

Edler Ehrfoff (even better)

Edler Stetcher (Stetch has never looked better)

Its when Edler is expected to create offence instead of support it he runs into trouble.
