Having trouble making your payments on your F 350 ?   Maybe buy a  Toyota Prius  next time instead....

If you want to save the planet, meet me in Sparwood. We can blockade some moonscapes. I doubt that Leo will join us though. Russians don't have a lot at stake when it comes to coal.

and comments like this are exactly why people can’t stand the anti pipeline crowd. They act like over dramatic 5 year olds thinking this pipeline has the same impact as the tsar bomb going off.

Think about the reaction you gave. Now consider:

A )that’s a pipeline build 57 years ago. Does you 1961 car still run without leaking?

B ) define a spill. A recorded spill is anything over 1.5 cubic meters.  Is 1.5 cubic meters going to destroy BC. How about 3 spills at the rate?

The company has the legal responsibility to contain and clean up any spill. As well as put in any extra measurements to prevent a spill from happening. There hasn’t been a single spill in the Westridge Marine terminal ever which has been going on since 1957.

I personally have order the spraying to probably ten times that much bitumen all over the place!

I thought you in BC mined coal used for making steel and not thermal coal.   Why would you want to stop making steel?   Even wind turbines need steel for your GREEN stuff.

Wind - KILLS BIRDS AND BATS AND REQUIRES A LOT OF LAND

Run of River - no dam - KILLS FISH, LOTS OF FISH

Solar - TAKES UP LOTS OF LAND AND IS QUITE INEFFECTUAL IN MOST OF CANADA

Tidal - UNPROVEN AT SCALE AND MOST PEOPLE FIND IT IMPACTS THE AREA AND DEVASTATES SEA LIFE

Wave - SAME AS TIDAL BUT HAVING ANOTHER NAME FOR SAME ITEMS THAT MAY GIVE <1% ENERGY NEEDS IS A CUTE TRY

Geothermal - HAD PROMISE IN 70'S BUT MOST ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS DISLIKE DUE TO FRACKING REQUIRED AND LARGE AMOUNTS OF CONTAMINATED WATER INVOLVED THAT IS HARD TO DISPOSE OF

Bio Mass - WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS?    HUMANS USED AS BATTERIES LIKE FROM THE MATRIX?

There are the one's i would want to see dramatically expanded.

Of course many changes to building code as well.

Couple of reads for you

Alberta can never be Norway because Norway was smart enough not to dip into its prosperity fund too early.

Highest paid doctors, nurses and teachers how is BC doin?

Yes, of course Alberta has high paying jobs...

But you must acknowledge that the Alberta Conservative Party squandered  a fortune in legacy funds that should have set up future generation of Albertans.

The massive oil profits were wasted with very little to show and it is such a shame for the future generations of citizens in the province.

If only the money would have been properly invested..........   30 years with basically no gain is  just unbelievable poor management by Alberta conservatives...

NO wonder the province finally woke up and voted NDP for better financial management....

First nice quote on the largest tanker oil spill in history of North America. Which happen 28 years ago. Where the captain was drunk. Because standard and safety hasn't improved.

technological advancements in  navigational aid's have never been better, programmable GPS interphased with auto pilot ,but thats as far standard and safety go, through out history the one constant thing that's happened is NAUTICAL DISASTERS. during the endbridge town hall meetings one of the endbridge spokes person said 1 marine incedent every 10,000 years , picture that if you will , heres a guy from alberta trying to convince north coast residents of that ridiculous figure.maybe he wasn't ready to be laughed at by a large room full of people ,but that's what happened. and now KM has come out with their ridiculous figure of 1 every 473 years WOW ! THERE IS NO ELECTRONIC  GADGET THATS GOING TO OVER RIDE  HUMAN ERROR , WHEN A SHIP STRICKS THE  BOTTOM!  . so the annual amount of ships traversing thru the gulf islands(NARROW) and juan de fuca strait goes from 70 per annum to 440, can you say congested!  i'll never downplay the potentials and no  oil isn't a nuke  but then again theres no such thing as an indestructible ship and no one from alberta is going to convince me that there is , or make me beleave the stupid incident figures    i live on the north coast and cant remember all of the marine incidents   (a lot) and there not going to stop happening because alberta suddenly needs an ocean!   heres some recent pics the, mv north star IS state of the art! the other 2 pics speak for themselves.

A disabled cargo ship that was drifting off the west coast of Haida Gwaii no longer needs to be rescued.

A spokesperson from the US Coast Guard has confirmed to CBC that the MV North Star has managed to restart its engines after fixing an electrical issue.

The North Star lost power yesterday morning and was drifting 50 nautical miles off the coast. It was sailing from Anchorage, Alaska to Tacoma, Washington.

A tug boat out of Prince Rupert and a Canadian Coast Guard vessel had been en route to assist the large ship, which has 27 crew members aboard

A prosperity fund that would have never been as lucrative as norway especially since the goverment of norway owns most of stat

As well as a population the size of bc and saskatchewan with only a third of the land mass of bc.which has coastline like bc if not more treacherous.

isn't it mostly offshore drilling as well in Norway? AB keeps 1/2 the royalty money so there was a lot to play with there, its hard to fathom how they managed to waste so much of it. I guess when you think the tap is never going to be turned off its easy to spend eh?

its an interesting compatible tho, roughly similar population (AB ~4 mil, Norway ~5) but its undeniable that the PCs did not do a great job managing that money. Forsberg being his usual callow self would defend it to the end I'm sure tho.

Let's dig shellfish while the Norwegians eat our lunch along with the US and Aussies. Our tankers will have tug escorts.

There are 36 ships waiting for grain outside of Vancouver harbour today. Are they banging around like pin balls? Twenty four LNG plants lost because ship sunk somewhere once.

This is why we are not Norway.
