RUPERTKBD
So.... if the place was full of God's people and assuming that most, or all, would offer prayers on a daily basis, one has to wonder why an "act of God" targeted a church, rather than say, a Brothel, or a Casino.... https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/at-least-16-dead-as-lightning-strikes-rwanda-church/ar-BBK6vXC?li=AAggv0m Quote At least 16 people were killed and dozens more injured after lightning struck a Seventh-Day Adventist church in Rwanda, a local official said Sunday. Fourteen victims were killed on the spot as lightning hit the church in the Nyaruguru district in the Southern Province on Saturday, local mayor Habitegeko Francois told AFP over the phone. Two others died later from their injuries, he said. He added that 140 people involved in the incident had been rushed to hospital and district health centres, but that many had already been discharged. "Doctors say that only three of them are in critical condition but they are getting better," he said. According to the mayor, a similar accident took place on Friday when lightning struck a group of 18 students, killing one of them Your move, Evangelicals.... Guest
The fact that you're smugly delighted about this shows just how incredibly dark you are in the inside. Pathetic.

RUPERTKBD
Not joking, nor "delighted". Just pointing out to those who think prayers (or thoughts) are an answer to anything, are kidding themselves.

-AJ-
Always sad to hear when people die. Also disappointing that some seem to have a sense of pride and see this only as an opportunity to throw shade rather than mourn lives that were lost. But natural disasters are often referred to as such. The point of the thread is to point out that these things just happen sometimes and the idea that prayer can prevent them, (or school shootings, etc) is a flawed concept, that too often takes the place of actually doing something. I suspect that in a case such as this, we'll see "thoughts and prayers" offered up on behalf of the victims, when the answer is a lightning rod, or planting some trees. Why are you trying to make a political statement with this? The story is that several people died or were injured, not "Lol Where's your god now?? lolololol Thoughts and prayers! lolololol" Anybody that tries to turn a random act like this into some sort of political statement just rubs me the wrong way. I get it with shootings or terror attacks, as those are thing should be preventable, but this? Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
