We have a trade to announce...

To LAK: Joni Tuulola + 2019 LAK 5th

To CBJ: Barclay Goodrow

Thanks to @Brocks Flow for the easy negotiations, and to @thejazz97 for processing.

Tuulola has some upside, but is at least a couple of years away. Goodrow hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire, and probably isn't performing well enough to bump anyone out of the current lineup. However, I wanted to add him while he was still waiver-ineligible. In another 15 games he loses that status, so he'll likely get stashed in the minors for the last 2/3 of the season, so we can use him as a playoff call-up.

Greer finally called up! Let's hope it’s for good. Point per game in the AHL so far and hits, fights, and is a general irritant. Really hope this guy turns into a Tom Wilson type player for the Avalanche. Minus the tendency to brain people.

If it weren’t for Gagner sucking, and Dotchin being fat... I’d have a full NHL roster for the very first time since I took over this team. I think currently the 22 active players is the most I’ve ever had at one time.

October Review

The Goods:

Patrice Bergeron - What a beast. at 8.6 FP/G, he is a monster this season so far. We had even looked at shopping him this summer and we are really happy we did not.

Michael Ferland - A lot of people thought he wouldn't be the same guy he was in Calgary. But we believed and keeping him has payed off. Our bargain of the year so far!

Dominik Kahun - First year in the league and showing us why we pursued him to come to Vancouver. Producing at a reasonable rate and we feel he can only get better

The Bad:

Nikolaj Ehlers - He has really disappointing to start the year. We knoe it is early though and there is a lot of time to still turn it around! We are believers that he is a big part of the future in Vancouver

Shayne Gostisbehere - He has started slow as well. He is a big staple to our D core and he has only got 5 points and a minus 9 to his name. Again lots of time to turn it around, but we will see what happens

Madison Bowey - It is not that we are dissapointed with his play, but more so his lack of playing time. We realize that Wsh had most Dmen from last year returning, but we feel Bowey should be getting more ice time then he is

Prospects:

Brett Seney, Sam Miletic, Lawrence Pilut are all killing it in the AHL to start the year. These guys whould become threats to join the team soon. Stelio Mattheos is ripping up the Western League as well. Excited for him to develop. Riley Sutter is also producing well to start the year

Florida is in a pickle. I'm 'retooling' but still doing well despite my tire fire in net.

So, if offers come along on players like Wheeler, Hyman, Oshie, Sissons, etc that change my mind into a full rebuild, then it's gonna be game on for moves. So...can someone convince me?

Another injury to a top player, with Arvidsson out. Also, another night of picking the wrong goalie - that's twice in a row now.

But still, the team stepped up, with the 3rd most points of the night. Unfortunately, the wretched Rangers got 10 more, and added to their division lead.

Nope. Trust us (as the people who sold you wheeler) that you won't get what you think of as value for him just dropping into your lap -it takes a while, and he's a pending UFA.

While the Rangers love to see the success so far - leading the league and first to 1000 - it means so much more knowing @D-Money is in 2nd.

Can't afford to take any nights off though, not when 7 Metro teams are in the top 14 of the league. That's insane.

definitely ... but i´m glad that my team stays in touch with the 3rd in the atlantic division. we re using the original playoff system  right?

Columbus Blue Jackets - October Report

First Ohio Battery:

1. Phil Kessel - 80.5 Fpts

Phil is absolutely flying out there, and on pace to have a career season for the 2nd year in a row.

2. Brad Marchand - 79.75 Fpts

Brad is being Brad, but without suspensions (so far)

3. Viktor Arvidsson - 68.25 Fpts

Viktor has anchored our 2nd line, to the point where we were comfortable trading Eric Staal. We're hoping his sudden injury yesterday is not too serious.

4. Ian Cole - 49.5 Fpts

Ian scores so well in this league. Him having a poor season last year was a blessing in disguise, as it allowed us to lock him up at a very manageable number.

Reduction in Rank:

1. Sergei Bobrovsky - 20 Fpts (10 while starter)

Has been relegated to back-up most nights, with his poor start to the season. However, his last two games have been very promising, so it looks like Bob might be back.

2. Mathieu Perrault - 19.25 Fpts

Although Mathieu's minutes are reduced due to his role on a strong team, he's generally much more productive than this. His first game of November was good though, so hoping that trend will continue.

Recruit Training

1. Matt Luff is killing it this season, with 12 points in 8 games. LA needs scoring help, could Luff be up soon?

2. Cameron Hebig has had a fantastic start to his pro career, with 9 points in his first 7 games.

3. Liam Foudy showing his 2nd half last year was no fluke, with 6 goals and 9 points in 9 games for London.

4. Aarne Talvitie has 5 points in his first 5 NCAA games - no trouble adapting to smaller ice.

5. Nick Desimone rolling with 7 points in 9 games, likely first in line for D call-ups to San Jose.

6. Clayton Phillips with 4 points in 3 NCAA games, after getting zilch in 11 games last year.
