Thank you to the League for approving my hiring and to oldnews again for the opportunity.

Nice to have you Mike! You are certainly inheriting a beauty of a team. As an oldnews replacement, I believe I will be exclusively referring to you as "youngnews". I hope this does not negatively impact our trading relationship.

To NYI: Jack Rathbone

To VGK: Cameron Hughes

Thanks @Nail for the pity deal.

Hughes has been solid in his first pro year coming out of college and we hope to see him make a step to the NHL with the RL Bruins in the next couple years.

Looking to package Mitch Vande Sompel and a 1st or 2nd round pick for a skilled forward prospect.

With the isle’s doing so good this year, I wonder what kind of return I could get for a package of Barzal and Beauvillier. Both are 21 and only going to get better. They aren’t available but I’d be interested to hear what people are willing to move for them.

Team looks legit from all the games I’ve watched. Trotz and goaltending are huge factors too.

On behalf of GM @D-Money, the Columbus Blue Jackets are proud to announce the signing of:

Joey L'Ésperance - 2 years, $1.25m

Columbus is happy to bring Joel "The Hope" to the team. He's had an outstanding rookie pro season in the AHL. He will provide some call-up depth this year, and challenge for a regular spot next season.

However, there seems to be an immigration issue, as L'Esperance has not been added to our Fantrax roster. Unless you're still looking for Joey, and not Joel?

Assignments due on the 13th and 15th, midterm on the 14th, birthday party to attend on the 15th, and needed a day of R&R yesterday  consider his visa issues resolved.

(And sorry about the name! :P)

Columbus is putting Ian Cole on the trade block.

Cole is a shot-blocking machine, which leads to consistently solid production (3.79 Fpts/game this year; 3.52 last year). And he's signed to a very affordable contract, that is the same term as his real-life one (2 more years after this), and $500K/year cheaper ($3.75M per).

He'll help a team a lot over the next couple of years. However, he's out for probably the rest of this season (fractured orbital bone), and won't help me in these playoffs, so I'm open to offers. Looking for a playoff player, or someone/something I can flip for that.

Thanks jazz.

Truly love you guys and have had a blast in this league.  So many things to like about this league.

Every year around this time I check out of the country for 2 or 3 weeks - and it's always a real challenge to attend to the trade deadline.

Not only is MV a great GM - but he's also great at creating player movement so I'm really happy to turn the team over to him.

You were a great GM in a lot of these leagues. My compliments! Saw you have stepped out of all the leagues?

Good luck with your venture, have fun on this trip!

So Boston definitely trending in the right direction.

We're 5th. Behind only CBJ, Zona, SV Monty & Carolina since Jan 1st.

That's without Corey Perry & effectively (gulp ) without Nylander. A great push by, primarily, our young players. Led by Zibanajed & Draisaitl. Its the really young guys, contributions from Ben Harpur & Oliver Kylington, who we were not sure would be in the line up really making the difference. Getting Forsling back from injury we're 8 deep on D. With Valimaki also back from injury, having trouble beating Kylington, here & in real life, to get back in the NHL.

So we have made a pending trade to free up cap space. Which will keep more, effectively all our young guys in the NHL.

We could be in the market for a goaltender to tandem with Tuuka Rask. Or swap Tuukka for a younger goalie. We could be in the market for play off players. We will consider hockey trades. People have asked for potential play off studs Alex Pietrangelo & Alex Radulov. And we'll listen.

small.png To COL: Scott Reedy, James Greenway

small.png To DET: Steve Mason, Dan Hamhuis, 2nd Rd. Pick (2019, CBJ), 3rd Rd. Pick (2019, COL), 4th Rd. Pick (2019, CGY)

A little rusty on the trades, Jazz? :P my 2019 DAL 3rd is going to COL as well! (I sent in in fantrax already for ya lol).

With that being said, if any playoff team needs some playoff defensive depth, I'm willing to retain 50% on Hamhuis for someone's playoff push! Only 1.55fppg but if NSH makes it to the third round or the finals those points could be very valuable! Send me a PM. Price is low.
