Thought I was going to have a good night last night, with almost a full roster playing. They were all marked healthy in the morning. But then over the course of the day, Hedman, Kadri, and Smith all were suddenly injured. Then Joseph had to be sent down so Tampa could call up Rutta to be an extra D.

At least only Kadri seems to be longer term.

To BOS: 2019 VGK 5th

To VGK: Corey Perry ($3m retained for duration of contract)

Thanks for posting Salter & GM @JimLahey

We traded for Corey Perry our first summer in Puck.  We appreciated him as part of our core. His salary became, a barrier to keeping several of our good young players on our roster.

Since his return from IR a couple weeks ago? We had players buried due to his cap any given night. On this subject, we agree with the viewpoint of many GM's that it is not fair. With Anaheim not a play off team & Perry's RL NMC clause, coming off injury, we did not feel the market would be strong. Or dignified in putting a one time MVP on waivers to solve cap issues.. So we chipped in to his salary and moved him to a team he could play a big role. We hope its a win for Corey and Vegas. He scored 50 points just last year.

Today we have Travis Sanheim & Joel Eriksson Ek, plus both instead of one of Henrik Borgstrom or Oliver Kylington back in our line up. We're a better team.

We also gained ongoing cap flexibility.

Our deadline path has also become clearer. We have two or four key play off vets on our line up. Alex Pietrangelo, Evander Kane, Alex Radulov & Tuukka Rask. We'll be open to hockey trades for younger players.  May move one, more than one, wont consider all.

Duchene traded... to a team that's loading up for playoffs... but also that team is 9th?

2 games in hand though, could be a change of fortune with the Duchene trade. Him and Panarin could be deadly.

I think adding Duchesne was to offset an upcoming Panarin trade.

They hope to re-sign MD, but AP is gonzo for sure. If they can get more for Panarin than they just gave up (very likely), there shouldn't be too much drop in performance and they'll come out ahead...especially if they retain Duchesne. And rumour was Matt really wants an 8-year deal, so CBJ has the advantage to sign him.

The Habs are pleased to Welcome back Christian and Fredrik for the next Season(s).

Christian has a rough Year but he´s still scoring Goals. He´s young and still has time to develope to a solid Top 6 Forward.

Fredrik is a solid Defensive Defender , sadly a injury threw him back. He will give our Defence some Depth next Season.

Further the Habs allready has a list of Players who will be not re-signed .cuz the Habs will clean the "House" a bit.

F Matt Hendricks

F Gabriel Bourque

F Jason Pominville

D Michael Stone

F Paul Carey

F Steven Lorentz

F Matt Puempel

F Kyle Criscoulo

F Blake Speers

If is there is any Team interested in one or more Players , The Habs are looking for Draftpicks

Not so much a formal "thanks for the trade" post, I thought it would be best just to post sygvard's internal message to me after we traded Domingue

"Makes me a bit sad. We rode him from being super optomistic. Making the long term confract gamble and expansion protecting. To absolute meming over how terrible he is. To breaking records on the top team in the league. To finally selling for a value pick.

Goodbye little dude.

Be free."

What's going down with the BJ's?

Last couple days have been underwhelming for the Columbus skaters, but back-to-back shutouts by Jones & Bobrovsky made them respectable. Carolina was gaining on me earlier in the month, so it's a relief to have the team maintain some distance in the standings.

As for the deadline, I have a few ideas and some irons in the fire, but with nearly an extra week after the RL deadline here, I'm interested to see how things shake out IRL before getting too serious.

image.png.71092b884ccf3ec98fffe11c040af7bc.png TRADE REPORT:

The Jets are said to have signed off on a trade late last night, another effort to solidify the team's roster for the stretch drive. Word is a young Playoff bound forward has been brought in to upgrade the wing position.

Winnipeg is still looking at upgrading the goaltending position and is open to explore options on goaltender Jon Gibson if need be.
