EXTENSION: The Vegas Golden Knights have re-signed forward Tyler Seguin to a seven year contract extension.

golden-knightsjpg-jpg-size-cus.jpg.1a3a2b64c054833f94570ef9b0af7d19.jpgTyler Seguin: 7 years, $ 70.0 million dollar contract ( $ 10,000,000.00 per season ).

* Deal includes Modified No-Movement-Clause (Can list 5 teams he will accept a trade through for the duration of his contract. List will only be in play during the offseason, unless player himself requests trade).

Vegas is ecstatic to have this signing announced after agreeing to the terms of the deal prior to completion of our deal with the Kings. Definitely sets a foundation in place for our club and gives us a major building block as we build towards the playoffs next year. Looking forward to what the offseason brings and the potential for further changes to get us to where we expect to be come this time next year.

Glad to have Andrew back mentoring Halverson on the Springs and continuing our solid goaltending backbone right through the organization.

Have to wonder what the hold up is on our other signing though...?:P

I could have killed PO when he made that trade...

It is still on my mind too. lol.

Here is what I remember of the deal: at a live game with several GM's I heard frustration over 'being stuck with the twins forever due to not being able to split them up or trade them together very easily might break the GM's game bad enough that he may not stay with the team"...my paraphrasing, not exact words...

...coupled with me knowing I had a hot commodity but one that at the time was a young highly touted teenager.... hindsight taken away from the equation, I got Henrik Freaking Sedin out of the deal, a known quantity who I figured could have a long long time left in the league...i vaguely recall thinking 6 years of Hank production for the cost of a teenager with great potential...and my team needed some catalyst to move up and out of the basement..Hank was that catalyst at the time rather than wait years to see what we got in Draisatl

...also i have a thought where putting a lot of expectations on one guy who may be hit by a bus tomorrow, break his leg blocking a shot or simply not translate his game to the pro level well enough to be a 15 year superstar ...well i find that somewhat silly..see the saga of Nail Yakopov ...how much did the GM pay to get that pick away from I think it was Tony Romo at the time....

so long story short; IMO it was a trade that gave the longevity upside to the other team getting Dr Drai...but I got a proven long term producer who rarely missed a game for a lot of years and while i kick myself over and over for doing it in hindsight..i would be 40% inclined to do it again if i were back in the moment...just as i was at that moment the first time around...i do recall thinking the added sauce in the dish was that i was solving a problem for a GM i really liked and respected who was having a tough time with his superstar twin brothers. I have since learned to try to be ruthless.

Until we post any updates the agents are:

Mike Vanderhoek - standard player contracts

Squeak - ELC's

canuck2xtreme - secondary agent handling standard player contracts for agents and to avoid conflicts of interest.

greensman - assisting with agent workload as needed ( due to time constraints )

Not fully back. I help alleviate loads from Mike when time allows.

this particular deal was a traded player of MV’s, so I handled negotiations with a few teams that were interested, to avoid conflict of interest.

ill pop up now and again throughout the year, but please do not send me offers directly.
