It is all we have to go on and our guy wins by a long shot. This is a good thing. So far this NCAA season, Madden has been a first line centre and Wise has been a 3rd line centre. This is reflected in their production (5 points for Madden vs 1 point for Wise). It's also clear in the fact that Madden has as many face-off wins as Wise has total face-offs taken. Of course it's early, but based on what we've seen so far, there's absolutely no question that Madden has been the more valuable and successful college player. EDIT: This post started a new page, so I'll just re-post the stream link for today's game (starts 4pm Vancouver time): https://watchstadium.com/live/150303/ Edited November 3, 2018 by SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
No points for Madden in the game earlier today. Northeastern lost 4-1. He did put up 5 shot on goal (tied for first on the team) and went 9/14 on face-offs (most wins and best FO% of the Huskies centremen). Madden leads all NCAA freshman in faceoff wins this season with 67. His FO% is 0.536. Remains at 5 points (3G 2A) through 8 games played. 1
Gaudette Celly
Certainly very encouraging that he's been able to step right in at center, on the first line no less, plus putting up points and with a great FO% with a frame carrying a mere 150lbs. I agree completely. Wonder how the kid will fill out over the next couple years? 152 lbs is light compared to even EP. Lol. But hopefully he fills out to 5'11" 190 like his dad, that will be more than enough.
Gaudette Celly
Yup, would expect him to at least match that, similar to Woo who at 17 I think is already taller than his father. 40lbs is quite a ways to go though!
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Madden and the Huskies with a pair of home games this weekend. Watched from about the 10 minute mark of the second period to the end. Was impressed with Madden's offensive awareness his defensive game is solid as has been advertised but his play making and hockey IQ have me planning to keep a keen eye on his progress. Could be another excellent pick....

SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
EDITED They took away the second one of Madden's assists from earlier (the one I showed above still counts obviously). And Tyler just scored the game tying goal! 4-4! Edited November 11, 2018 by SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME

Popular Post SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
NU wins 5-4 in OT. Madden with 2 points (1G 1A), 4 SOG, +2. Should bring him to 9 points (4-5-9) in 10 games. Edited November 11, 2018 by SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME 1 1 1

Popular Post SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Just playing around with the filters on collegehockeyinc.com, and wanted to check how Madden is doing versus other freshmen in Hockey East. Reason being is that there's a significant difference in quality of competition between some of the various NCAA conferences, and Hockey East is usually considered one of the tougher ones (and it usually has at least the second highest NHLe conversion rate among all the NCAA conferences). Anyway, here's where Madden currently ranks among his class in Hockey East: Goals: 1st Assists: 3rd (tied) Points: 2nd (tied) Goals/GP: 2nd (tied) Assists/GP: 5th (tied) Points/GP: 3rd SOG: 3rd SOG/GP: 5th FO wins: 1st FO taken: 2nd Not too shabby. Especially in a Hockey East freshman class that includes 15 drafted players, and 3 first round picks (Wahlstrom, Farabee, O'Brien). And among those drafted freshman players, Madden ranks either 1st or 2nd in nearly every key statistical category. EDIT: Also, based on NHLe, Madden's current scoring rate translates to 28 NHL points in an 82 game season. Popular Post SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Madden was named Hockey East rookie of the week. https://nuhuskies.com/news/2018/11/12/mens-ice-hockey-tyler-madden-named-pro-ambitions-rookie-of-the-week.aspx He had 1G 3A 4 points in two games this past weekend. First game, he setup the gamewinning goal (primary assist) with under two minutes remaining. Second game, he scored with under 5 minutes remaining to tie the game and force OT. Talk about clutch. Northeastern won both games, after coming from behind, and getting those critical primary points from Madden late in both games.
