No GM makes perfect trades and signings. No coach deploys the best lines and makes every player look good. There will be some good, lots of bad but in the end we cheer for our local teams no matter how good or bad they do. I would love to see a lot of different things happen for the organization too but it is what it is. I think utica has been quite supportive for our farm team. It is too bad we dont seem to sign better quality AHL players or find better depth part way thru the year it isn't a rebuild of the Canucks, it's a rebuild of the org, top to bottom. Many people forget this, especially those with Utica as their top fan priority.

Then back up your negative opinion with factual evidence or concede you were wrong. Remember you said you were good at this dating back to the Devils organization, again an opinion with no facts. To be clear I have no problem with your opinion and actually agree with them mostly just be accountable for them as well. Ill leave it at that.
Nuxfanabroad
There's been a fair amount of unnecessary hand wringing & occasional hyperventilating. Every yr the farm team's had a trend of starting slowly, then starting to pull socks up. This yr it was predictable, with all the early injuries. Also top team had the sched from Hell. Today Comets are 1 game under .500; parent team 2 games under. Not too shabby, all things considered.

Agree that Vancouver has not done enough to provide the vet framework necessary for proper development. Gaunce and Archy should help. I prefer Biega in Utica as well. Had wanted Gaudette back down as well. Still might happen with Beagle coming back and Sutter in December some time. EVen tho Gaudette got his first goal I prefer more TOI for his development than what he can get in Vancouver. Gaunce is scoring regularly since coming down. How does he look? He played 2 years for Green in Utica and yet they appear to be banging heads in Van. Not sure what is going on. Gaunce is solid at this level. Plays well in all three zones and has a underrated shot that he has the extra time and space in the AHL to utilize. I would like to see him show more energy and emotion out there but that just doesn't seem to be part of his personality. Maybe Green is looking for the same?

Well I wasn't impressed with any of those aforementioned three forwards. Gaunce got a nice goal, but was having a bad game up to that point and didn't improve much in his second game. Archie has been playing too passive. Boucher was okay in his game, but didn't do anything to take more minutes from the guys ahead of him on the depth chart. TomatoPieFan
By Ben Birnell Posted at 1:18 PM Updated at 2:11 PM Darren Archibald is back — again. The popular forward was assigned back to the Utica Comets from the Vancouver Canucks on Monday afternoon, team General Manager Ryan Johnson confirmed. The move — which was necessary because Canucks defenseman Alex Edler was activated from injury reserve — happened after the longtime Comets player successfully cleared waivers after no other NHL teams put in a claim on him. The 29-year-old Archibald was on recall with the Canucks since Oct. 30 and had a goal and assist in nine games while filling in as a depth option for the parent team this season. Archibald’s return gives the Comets — who have won three consecutive games following Saturday’s 4-2 home victory over Belleville — a boost as they work through injuries and callups early this season. Archibald — one of the team’s top forwards who is also viewed as a leader — also provides an option on special teams. The veteran Archibald, who has appeared in a Comets-record 289 regular-season contests, has four goals and two assists in eight games. He last appeared in the Comets lineup on Oct. 20, a 4-3 win over rival Syracuse. The Comets (9-10-1-1, 20 points) gained some footing in earning all six possible points last week in wins over three North Division teams — and help from the recent returns of goaltenders Thatcher Demko and Richard Bachman. The wins helped propel them from eighth place at the start of the week to fourth place entering Monday. Utica is two points behind third-place Cleveland. Each of the Utica’s three games this week are on the road against division teams. The Comets head to Binghamton on Wednesday before playing Friday at Belleville and Saturday at Laval. It is part of a stretch in which five of the next six Comets games are on the road.

Sometimes you just are what you are, and I think that's the case with those four. Gaunce and Boucher are at least young enough to still get better and maybe change their career paths. But Archibald and Biega aren't going to develop into anything more than what they are = fringe NHL'ers and good AHL'ers.....and I have to think that that's what all four will ever be. And there's nothing wrong with that, as every team needs good depth guys to call up and fill a temporary role.
