Our treatment of refugees/asylum seekers, our soldiers actions in Afghanistan, our nutjob politicians, to name some. I bring these things up on this board. There are a lot of good Australians too. I do believe Canadian society is somewhat more enlightened than ours.

Got a Kawasaki 450 still though and a triumph roadie. Even though I am old now I am still very fit and more importantly very driven. Riding pow is still the best feeling I have ever experienced. MTB never appealed to me much. I skateboarded until early 30s which with dirtbiking was my summer go to. Golf joined it for awhile but a car accident made it not as fun on the neck. I was a 5 handicap at the time. The bike park is a crowded mess of &^@#wads. I hate lines and stopped riding my snowboard due to how crowded it is these days. I have a 350 Husky 2 stroke, Honda 250l dual sport, BMW 850gs and 93 Virago 1100 cruiser. Up next will be some sort of touring cruiser while I turn the Virago into a rat style bike. The BWM will be sold next spring.
Gurn
Mass school shooting -Russian University: 6 dead 28 injured https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/shooting-at-russian-university-leaves-6-dead-28-hurt/ar-AAOCNXb?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531 MOSCOW (AP) — A student opened fire Monday at a university in Russia, leaving six people dead and 28 hurt, before being shot by police and detained, officials said. Beyond saying that he was a student, authorities offered no further information on his identity or possible motive. During the attack, students and staff at Perm State University locked themselves in rooms, and video posted on Russian news sites showed some students jumping out of second-story windows. In some footage, a black-clad, helmeted figure could be seen striding on a campus sidewalk cradling a long-barreled weapon. Russia’s Investigative Committee, the country's top body for criminal probes, said the gunman fired a smoothbore hunting weapon. That could indicate he used a shotgun. The Investigative Committee said six people were killed, revising down its earlier figure of eight dead. No explanation was given for the change. A traffic police unit was the first to reach the scene, and the suspect opened fire on them, according to the Interior Ministry. He was wounded when police returned fire and then was disarmed, the ministry said. The gunman also was armed with a knife, it said. Although firearms laws are strict in Russia, many people obtain permits for hunting weapons. News reports cited officials as saying the suspect had a permit for a pump-action shotgun, although it was not clear if it was for the weapon used. Despite the firearms regulations, mass shootings take place. In May, a gunman opened fire at a school in the city of Kazan, killing seven students and two teachers, with a registered weapon. A student at a college in Russia-annexed Crimea killed 20 students and himself in 2018. The university, which has 12,000 students enrolled, said about 3,000 people were on the campus at the time of the shooting. The school is in the city of Perm, which is about 1,100 kilometers (700 miles) east of Moscow with a population of about 1 million. The Investigative Committee said 28 people were injured, some of them hospitalized, but did not give details. The Health Ministry said 19 of them were shot; it was not clear how the others were injured. Jim Heintz, The Associated Press 1

I remember reading about the mass shooting in a theatre a few years ago. There was no delay, no concerns about the people in the theatre, tactical team went in and took out the shooter without delay or much concern for collateral damage. Seemed very much a shut this down with extreme prejudice kind of response.

I'm fairly sure those morons in Salmon Arm, can't think. Lucky they didn't get shot; the content of a 911 call can save your life. " 911, state your emergency" "HI, principal at Salmon Arm Elementary here; we have some anti vaxx protesters entering our building without permission". 911 "Ok we will send a couple of constables to clear the building" or "911, state your emergency" " There are armed people trying to get into the school" " SWAT is on the way, hide until they neutralize the threat". 1
