canuckpuckluck1
Maybe there was no reason other than he has had enough and isn't enjoying the role anymore. He has had a very long and very good career, then 4 years battling to right this ship now maybe its just the right time to go....it happens. captainhorvat
Linden steps down the day Iginla retires. Jarome Iginla will be the new President of the Canucks.
Fanuck
Would've prefered ownership to be the ones moving on to pursue other endeavors.

Yeah, ownership willing to pay the maximum allowed under the salary cap for a bad team, plus pay for our own farm team instead of an affiliation clearly needs to be driven out. Some entitled fans don't know how good we have it. Look at Ottawa for an example of what bad ownership looks like.
Smashian Kassian
I wonder what this really means. I can't imagine much is really going to change. Was Linden not pulling in the same direction??? Maybe its Linden taking the fall for the Canucks post-2015 till now failure; we have the young players coming now but the team is still far away. The team is at its lowest point in a long time and maybe ownership has had enough and wants a fresh change? It seemed like there was a power struggle towards the end of the Gillis years. We were assured that wouldn't be the case when Trev came in 4 years ago but has that held up?? Not too sure what to think about this one.
Ronaldoescobar
Hopefully not Linden first and the team (to Seattle) next.

Yeah, it felt like he was doing this as a favour to the team when they needed him. Maybe he feels that it's time for Benning to step into that role himself. skategal
I'm sure we will never know the true reason, I hope it's nothing more than a personal decision that will allow him to spend more time with his new baby. His role as Club President required a lot of travel which I'm sure wasn't always fun.

Would you prefer an owner like Melnyk? No owner is perfect but I'd rather have an owner that is willing to spend $$$$ (see the Whitecaps for a more local example). 86Viking
TL has a young kid, this job was time consuming and stressful in a market with bone headed media. Dont blame him at all for leaving to spend time with family and stay out of the spotlight with doing other business ventures. JB moved into President spot, Hire TB AGM Brisebois as new GM at some point?
BobSacamano
Very weird timing. In that mic’d up draft video they put together I noticed Trevor sitting off to the side not really involved and thought that was a little odd.
