Bure_Pavel
Sven Baertschi - Bo Horvat - Brock Boeser (Scoring line) Nikolay Goldobin - Elias Pettersson - Loui Eriksson (secondary scoring) Brenden Leipsic - Brandon Sutter - Jake Virtanen (fast, gritty, and can score) Antoinne Roussel - Jay Beagle - TIm Schaller (Tough, and solid defensively, can chip in the odd goal) Sam Gagner Markus Granlund Makes alot of sense, so many different possible line combo's

Nuxfanabroad
Ultra-skilled youth on the top-2 lines(think 80's Coilers). Hard-nosed, vet presence on bottom 2 lines(grit of 80's Isles). D-core on par with late 70's Habs. 'Tending like Hasek-era Buffalo. & Lord Stanley shall look down, approvingly...

Rick_theRyper
Most realistic line up so far. Have seen a few very similar line ups so it's good to see more and more level minded fans. This year will be another one with more talent leaking in like a dam about to burst. If we keep our picks after the next 3 or 4 when we really start owning the west again.. We will be a perennial deep playoff team. Side note, Why does the first person after the OP quote the whole long thread.. Almost always makes me laugh. Like we didn't just read it.. Save tjat for page 10 +..

Could really have a breakout second professional season and establish himself as one of core prospects moving forward.

Utica is clearly better than it has been but this is because the prospect pool is better. Gone are Megna and Chaput, signed is Kero Kero is definitely better than Megna. And whoever doesn't make the Canucks will be in Utica... so,... yes... a much stronger team. Even if Demko makes the Canucks along with a couple of the other high end prospects (Juolevi and Dahlen, e.g.,) there is a still a mountain of talent arriving. In a way, it's a shame the Comets aren't located in the lower mainland somewhere... the tickets would be really affordable, and we could watch the future of the Canucks unfold. Might even be the sort of team to buy season tickets for.
Pete M
If the young guns (including Gaudette, Lind, Dahlen, OJ, Gadjovich) come into camp and they kick the door down and outplay the likes of LE, Gagner, Hutton, Pouliot, etc...and they are not on the roster than I would say their development at the NHL level is being blocked by place holders...if it happens, then it is kind of a sad situation...especially if this team finishes bottom 3....when you could have played your better players. As much as I want to be selfish and have all the young kids play. I think a better move would to showcase our vets with some of the better players, and slowly start moving out vets. Then come to TDL if all are healthy just pull the plug on most of the vets. If healthy Tanev Edler Sutter retained could all easily get us 1sts. I believe before Jan Zotto and Gags will be gone. If not move them at the TDL for whatever. They only cost us money to acquire anyway. Then whatever kids are left in Utica call them up. Ya they will take their lumps, but will also give us time to find out who meshes well together. This would make everyone happy. Anti-tankers get their wish. And let me clarify I hate tanking but I don't consider this tanking unless at the march were firmly in a playoff spot than forget my whole post. But back to what I was saying Pro tankers will get to see this team fuull of almost all kids. Plus if ever a year we are going to do something like this. This would be the year. We have this draft has at least 6-7 guys who are a slam dunk to be first line centers as soon as next year. If Krebs got any faster this offseason. Watch out, Jack. This kid is awesome. Then you have Jack. Kirby Cozens, Turcotte(my sleeper pick who may end up 1st.Newhook, and Lavoie.Plus a stud RHD in Bowden. Imagine if JB does pull the trigger on 3- 5 trades before March including our big 3. Maybe even Sven if the offer is right. This is our last crappy year. Next draft ia so important to us. Thank god JB is still in charge. I'm not saying Sven is a top line talent. But when a guy if isn't hurt is been on average the last 2 seasons for 20 goals and 50 points, and not in his prime yet, and we won't have room? That is pretty damn exciting Utinen looks to be another steal on the backend. Don't even get me started about Rathbone. Watch him smash Adam fox this year in Harvard. vannuck59
Come the trade dead line the canucks should be transformed, out Tanev , Nilsson, Edler, Sutter, Granlund, and Baertschi . At least 3 of these players need to be moved.

At least 3 of these players need to be moved. Don't see them deliberately weakening the team. Edler-Tanev are still the best Ds on the team. Only 168 Fs produced at a 0.5 pace (min 20 games) - that's less than 6 F per team (that would be 186Fs). Canucks had 5 players who scored 12 goals last season and 2 are gone - a team like New Jersey had 10. Other teams are trying to build 3 lines that can score. Leipsic is entering his draft+7. Goldobin is a 1st round pick entering his draft+5. It takes time to find and develop NHLers. Shinkaruk, Rychel, Poirier, Klimchuk, Lazar, Dano are all 1st round picks from 2013 who are struggling to make an impact in the NHL. Tavares said missing the playoffs was another wasted opportunity. Horvat is a UFA in 5 years and will have plenty of suitors.
