2018 Young Stars Classic returns to Penticton

The Vancouver Canucks and City of Penticton announced that the 2018 Young Stars Classic will return to the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, BC from Friday, September 7th to Sunday, September 9th.

 

"The Young Stars Classic is a fantastic tournament and the City of Penticton does a tremendous job as host," said Trevor Linden, Canucks President of Hockey Operations. "While the format and participating teams has changed, fans can still expect a lot of excitement and a high level of competition from both top prospects and elite university programs." 

 

The Young Stars Classic features two games between the top prospects from the Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks as well as a two-game series between the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds and U Sports Champion University of Alberta Golden Bears.  

Canucks prospects expected to participate in the tournament include Adam Gaudette, Jonathan Dahlen, Olli Juolevi, Kole Lind, Lukas Jasek, Jonah Gadjovich, Zack MacEwen, Jalen Chatfield, Guillaume Brisebois and Michael DiPietro.

Vancouver, BC - The Vancouver Canucks announced their 2018 Young Stars Classic roster and ice times today. The first practice is scheduled on September 6 at 2:00 PM at the South Okanagan Events Centre, followed by media availability. A team roster is attached, and game schedule included below.

Full tournament rosters and information will be posted on canucks.com/youngstars and SOEC.ca (rosters subject to change).

Single game tickets are available for $12 for university games and $15 for NHL games, while full tournament packages are $35. Off ice Young Stars Classic programs include a Minor Hockey event and Party on the Plaza with games, food, music and entertainment for fans.

I would add gritty talented Lind with Pettersson for 2 games against Jet rookies..

Dahlen - Pettersson - Lind

Gadjovich - Gaudette - Jasek

Eggenberger - MacEwen -Palmu

Yes I agree the top two lines look pretty good. In aa couple years that could be two of the top three on the big club.

Will be exciting to follow the Comets  with so many young prospects drafted by Benning group playing there for there 1st year of pro hockey this year..

It might be exciting to see a few call ups also. I hope the kids have a lot of success in Utica this year.
