Quotes from Goldobin earlier today.

Not directly related to the interview but Goldobin will be battling for a spot at camp. Really interesting quotes from Goldie. It seems the kids realize it's time to take charge. A positive sign for sure. Let's hope those words equal some on ice action.

time will tell who stays and who goes!

I am so excited for this training camp and pre season. Even if most of the kids go to Utica it will be exciting to see how close a lot of these guys are.

There is a good chance we see 4-5 different rookies get call ups this season. Man that is exciting. :D

Green is kinda calling out Goldobin, Granlund, and Gaunce. Maybe even Baertschi a little...although he has proven more imo than the others.

I wish Green would of also called out some vets and said they could be in trouble too.

I agree with you Rush...this is exciting!!! I am so ready for this season!!

I don't think granny is included in that, he's shown that he is a legit, versatile, full time nhler.

3-4 year guys need to step up so basically what willy 2.0 is saying is flakes like Gagner & DelZotto get to suck ass & are totally protected . No surprise I guess considering Gagner took over Boeser's spot on the pp last year , which totally made sense I guess . Hey hopefully they bring Megna back just in case Bo go's down

Has he tho?

What is he then?  Top 6 scorer?  Bottom 6 energy player?  Physical?  PP or PK specialist?  Speedster?

He is an average to mediocre cerebral player that specializes at pretty much nothing.  AKA a placeholder until someone better comes along.

Best role for Granlund on a competitive team would be 13th forward.

Well, two years ago he scored 19 on a team that couldn't score, and last year the asked him to be part of a shutdown line with Sutter and Dorsett and go up against the best opposition fwds shift after shift.  Not only did they shut down the top players in the league, they dominated shift after shift.  Had that entire line not suffered long term injuries, who knows what they would have done.

To me, that sounds like a player you want in your lineup, regardless of the role you need filled.

Disagree

He's a legit middle six forward. His production is acceptable when he's actually put on a line that has some offensive capability and he plays a smart, defensive shutdown game when thrown into that pigeon hole like last year.

Let's look at Gaunce and Gagner as entirely underwhelming one dimentional plugs before throwing Granny under the bus.

Pettersson in Utica is my ideal scenario... because I'm already dropping the Canucks in favour of watching Utica this year.

It's unlikely, but not impossible.  I also don't think it would be a terrible idea
