Would I have guessed that Rittich would be seeing playoff ice time 2 months ago? YUP.... what a difference a netminder makes. D-Money
Yesterday afternoon I was worried about a 2nd round against EDM... But since then he's lost 8 of his top-10 scorers. ... Blame Eakin! Edited April 24, 2019 by D-Money
Popular Post Nail
Updated after tonight's action with just one more game to go. I've moved Winnipeg on, with Vancouver needing Nicklas Backstrom to make up 48.5 points while outscoring John Carlson and Brooks Orpik. Colorado is on the verge of clinching, however a big game from Sebastian Aho can possibly push Dallas past Colorado who has just Braden Holtby and Haydn Fleury playing. With Lars Eller playing tomorrow, it'll take a miracle for Carolina to lose to Columbus, as the Jackets will need Curtis McElhinney to come into the net, and either get a shutout or some combination of pool points to make up the 13 point gap. With a 40 point lead over Tampa Bay, Jordan Staal and Justin Faulk will try and fend away Nino Niederreiter and possibly Micheal Ferland. Washington is in real good shape to move on. Finally, in likely our closest matchup of them all, just 8.5 points separates the Rangers and Islanders. The Rangers (who are 2nd in league scoring in Round 1), need a big performance from Matt Niskanen, Greg McKegg and Saku Maenalanen, while the top dog Isles will have Alex Ovechkin, Brett Connolly and Jakub Vrana playing tomorrow night. If the league wants more drama tomorrow night, lets hope for a blowout Carolina win with McElhinney in net 2 1

Monty
Currently, the Hurricanes have four picks in the 5th round, and a “hidden” 2nd round pick that has an Eric Comrie factor (trade to be announced on July 27th). Happy with my picks this coming draft. As usual, though, looking for more. Now, my pending UFA’s above (see post) can have their rights traded (and we can structure the trade to be a conditional pick, should the player sign). Roster players we can discuss trading right now. Going to reassess in more detail after playoffs are over, but I’m open to moving majority of players, not named Laine, Kotkaniemi, and Hart. Most prospects are available, as well. Obviously some have higher value than others (Bowers, Ukko-Pekka, Perunovich, Barre-Boulet).

Popular Post Monty
As long as Mrazek avoids Sami Salo for the next few hours, this series is mine! On another front, our new baby is due today, and the doctor said she wouldn’t be surprised if my wife went into labor this evening (same thing happened last time). So, I’ll be out of commission for a little bit. But considering my totally healthy addiction to CDC, I’ll be back on pretty soon after, with pics. 3

Monty
Question 1: Why is it that you won a Stanley Cup with Nick Lidstrom, Brian Rafalski, and Niklas Kronwall on defense, but not Morgan Rielly, Jake Gardiner, and Nikita Zaitsev? Question 2: How come you handed second line winger William Nylander a $6.9M per contract? Question 3: Why did you tell Nazem Kadri to cross check someone in the face? Question 4: It’s obvious to anyone with half a brain that this roster is imbalanced, and the fault lies on Kyle Dubas and Brendan Shanahan to construct a lineup that is balanced. So my question is, why is this all your fault? Question 5: Why do you give me, Luke Fox, a voice for people to listen to, when clearly I have zero credibility? Nail
Will get the final updates posted soon. Congrats to all teams who’ve moved onto round 2! If you want to make any roster changes to your lineup and insert any black aces in, you must do it before tomorrow’s first game. What a crazy playoffs so far, could it be possible teams advance into round 3 and 4 here with no players left playing?
