Kassian would be a welcome re-addition to the team. He's in the best shape of his life, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Green could be the coach to give him a right opportunity with the right motivation. He'd instantly beef up the forward corps.

Not to mention he would come pretty cheap.

I guess that means that Kassian and his agent can look for a team who would take him but Chirelli won't be wasting any time on it

Chiarelli is just doing what he can to get the best return.  the further away he is from the deal, the better it is for the Oilers:P

Considering that he's already gone through 1 Jack Adam winning coach who won the Presidents Trophy twice (AV), a 2-times Coach of the Year winner and Stanley Cup winner (Torts), a coach with very good minor league credentials (WD), and a coach who has also good AHL credentials plus lots of success as head coach and assistant (Todd McLellan)..... all with different styles of player from defensive, to offensive, to grinding, etc.

Yet Kassian still can't seem to put it together, yet he believes yet another fresh start is what's needed for his career?  Sorry, I don't think a roster spot on the Canucks should be wasted on him.

Points taken OD.  I wonder, though, if the Coils are allowing his agent to talk to other teams, that they would likely have already offered him out.  If they really don't think they can move him, we should see him on the waiver wire in a few weeks.

yes - probably the case - that they looked at dealing him and then gave his agent the go-ahead to see if they could manage to find one.

wouldn't be surprised at all if he winds up on waivers.  once you get to this point, team and player tend to wind up going their own way - and with the volume of quality depth forwards out there nowadays, it's hard to leverage a 10 minute player like Kassian.   Maybe just an impression, but there seems a growing tendency for teams to stick with their own in-house depth forwards, at least to start seasons... I like Zack - think he has a certain impact in a lineup - but there's probably a decent chance he'd clear.

Kassian seems to end up being at minimum a distraction wherever he goes - or worse.

Not interested in the risk of what his presence will do in the locker room for what he brings.

Looks like the other teams are giving the Oilers permission to keep him.

I was starting to open up to a Leipsic for Kassian trade but you are absolutely right. What are we thinking lol.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I know it's boring, but posters should always indicate 'sarcasm'. It isn't as obvious as the poster might think. This was obviously a poster that was having a bad day, yet quite a few took his sarcasm as a serious thought.

Wouldn't do Kassian for JV straight-up.

Overpayment. Virtanen is a better player with a higher ceiling than Kassian.

What?  I love Kass, but you want to trade Jake.  Sometimes the fan base amuses me.
