Pearson is the better player but Hagelin gives them something they don’t have a lot of. Well, they better be good passers, 'cause they'll never be able to keep up with Hagelin. Don't like that team; never did, never will. Enjoy watching their spiralling ride to oblivion and hope they stay there for a long, long time. Oh and may they have really bad luck with the f@&+>#% lottery too. Auhhhhh. That feels reel gud!

Maybe there is more to this story. I don't think there's too much going on here. Pearson is on pace for like 5 points, Hagelin not much better. Both teams looking for a shakeup. LA needs speed, Pittsburgh needs to breathe some life into their depth. Deal isn't as bad as most people make it. Pearson is 26 and has good offensive upside but he clearly wasn't gonna get going in LA. Both players could use a change of scenery.
Butters Stoch
Pens are going to turn Pearson into a 20 goal scorer again

But that dropoff for Pearson as a 26 year old is alarming.

Toyotasfan
The Kings are first at something, being old. Now are they trying to get their average age over 30, because they’re at 29.2 before Hagelin.

canucklehead44
This trade makes sense and both teams need a shakeup. For LA: - Pearson was doing nothing - Hagelin adds speed to their slow lineup - Reduce risk of Pearson's contract being a future anchor - Hagelin is a UFA and will be easy to move at the deadline as we would be a great 4th line pickup (Fast PKer, stanley cup winnter) For Pittsburgh - They should be getting the better player - Pearson is also four years younger - If he returns to 20 goal form he will be a solid asset that cost nearly nothing to acquire - All risk/reward from the Penguins end

He has averaged 16 points over the past 4 seasons @ 4.9mil.
