J.I.A.H.N
Conditional that all are healthy early January, when the trade freeze comes off. Philadelphia Lahtera (C) 1 yrs $4,700,000 MacDonald (RHD) 2 yrs $5,000,000 (Cash dump) Isaac Rathcliffe (C) 19 2nd rd 2017 Draft Phil. Myers (RHD) Not drafted Conditional 2019 2nd that turns into a 2019 1st Round pick if Phili makes the playoffs Vancouver Edler (LHD) 1 yr $5,000,000 Sutter (C) 3 yrs $4,375,000 Saunter (LHD) Not Drafted 2021 2nd My belief is that Phili is under-achieving, and their window with their Veterans is closing, at the same time, Lahtera and MacDonald are both just dead wood, of which the Canucks have the cap room to carry them both short term. Edler and Sutter will both shore their defensive side of the puck and give them a much more competitive team. Myers for Saunter is a lateral move to give both teams a little more evenness in their defensive prospects. For Vancouver, the lose of Edler could only be temporary, as he is a UFA, this summer and can be picked up this summer, if he would like to come back., and Sutter can be replaced through UFA, if not replaced internally by Horvat, Beagle and Gaudette. What this does for Vancouver is to start condensing picks, and stock piling talent for the next climb to the top, where as Phili has rebuilt their back end with young talent, and are further ahead of the Vancouver rebuild, the addition of Sutter gives them a defensive center, that can step up and pay top 6 minutes if needed. Of the 4 veterans moved, Sutter is the only player with term, that will be used and most likely re-signed.

You clearly don't follow prospects if you think Saunter is a lateral move compared to Myers. If JB said that to Hextall, he would immediately not be taken seriously as his lack of knowledge about prospects would be eye opening. Also, this will obviously never happen. Relax, you got to take a pill...……. Although, Myers is a BFG, he is still in the minors learning, as the Flyers loose, with a great RHD side, and great forwards, now I agree Myers is a better prospect than Sautner, but the question is how much? That is something you can not say unequivocally, Meyers will be 22 in January, and he is still in the minors, with A. MacDonald on the right side, so don't be telling me he is the next coming of Dahlin. (They could be sitting MacDonald and playing Myers for less than $700,000 cap space if there was a difference, but there is not, and MacDoanlad sucks sh$t) so get off your rock, and don't take things so god damn literal. The fact remains that both Lehtera and MacDonald are brutal and would be considered cash dumps, and Sutter and Edler are huge upgrades, which need to be compensated for. It also give Phili, first dibs on re-signing Edler, and you are also paying for Suters term Now if you think loosing Simmonds (31 next year), and having Giroux just play out this year for nothing is a good idea, then fine. But both of these players are still contributors and will be for 2 or 3 years, at least. with Hart, and Frost coming on board, and their young team......this is a good deal. As for the Canucks we are at least 2 or 3 years behind them, and seeing how dominant Winnipeg was, and how big and fast they were, I suggest we start moving players while we still can...…. And just remember...….you read the post up until you didn't agree with something I said...….. Then you got cranky!
N7Nucks
If they make any deals it'll be at the deadline if they feel they are within arms reach of it. Not sure why they trade a RHD for a LHD. Sautner has very little value, did we even call him up when we lost like half our starting 6?

I think our prospect pool is a little shy on RHD I believe it was Cull who said that both " Brisebois and Sautner are ready to come up, but that Juolevi need some more time " Posted on here somewhere. Can't find it. Thanks for commenting
N7Nucks
Definitely pretty heavy on left D. Sautner and Breezer are ready eh? I like the sound of that. With Hughes and maybe Juolevi possibly cracking the roster next season that’s Edler (maybe), Hutton, Breezer, Sautner, Juolevi and Hughes all fighting for spots on the left side next season. Throw Pouliot’s name in there too possibly. Lol. Good plan to try turn one of em into a RHD. Just unsure of Sautner’s actual value.
