Back in '39 when Gaunce was drafted, his slow lumbering style was what management was looking for.

Feels like he has been on this team for that long, anyhow.

This year was his seventh training camp with the Canucks. I am happy to move on from the Gaunce experiment.

Boucher needs to be given a good LONG look to see what he can really do. A few games here and there like he has been given most of his career won't help his development at the top level. In his longest stretch in the show, he had 19 points in 39 games. In a full season that's 40 points.

Seriously? The first point?

If she's afraid of the fan base here, she went to school for her program for the WRONG reasons because the Canucks would have been an amazing career opportunity for anyone.

Yo.....  U didn't hear she got scared away by some dude who got the hots for her and tried to chase her down after games??

gaunce is not as bad as the way green has treated him.  he seemed to have a terrible camp but who knows if that is his fault or he got a raw deal from the start.  also not sure if the demotion is maybe due to their perceived need to use the open spots on the roster in a desperate search for guys with upside, but he's a decent piece of clay from which to form a bottom six role player and has more long time nhl potential in that role compared to several of our undersized forwards who are longshots to take another step.

he's rotting on the vine right now.  he needs a fresh start as badly as any player on our roster.

as for boucher,  he seems to be as in shape and ready as i have ever seen him in my limited viewing this year, but i remain a skeptic he is an nhl player with his limited bag of tricks.

I don't mind seeing Boucher get one more chance to stick in the NHL. Gagner was clearly motivated this time around!!

Interesting to see if either will get to stay rest of the season!!

I’m hoping Boucher shows well. It’s a cliché, but I’ve seen it said a few times this year that he’s in the “best shape of his career” and Cull has praised him for his pace and improved skating, as well as his attention away from the puck and effort getting back on D. Boucher has always had NHL quality offensive instincts and a top level release on his shot, but if he’s indeed improved his overall game to the point where his skating and defence are also NHL grade, I could see him being a nice addition right now, and possibly sticking around for a while, even if the team gets healthy.

Not a huge fan, but maybe he can score some goals. He's traditionally been very one-dimensional with poor defense. His shot is like Boeser's and Pettersson's in the AHL, but it's closer to average in the NHL.

Gaunce is big, slow, and soft.   Kind of like a poor man's Taylor Pyatt.

If he can't even crack our injury depleted lineup, that says it all.

Good luck Brendan, maybe you'll get a steady job in Europe where those things don't matter as much.

The team needs secondary scoring - has a wealth of solid bottom six defensive forwards.

Move makes some sense.    Particularly when recalling Gagner = getting Boucher up as well is appropriate imo.

Really like Gaunce and think he played well - but with Boeser and Baertschi absent, can see why they'd look to recall their best AHL sniper.

That's not a good reason for leaving a job that you love.

You're in the public, something crazy like that is going to happen. Report it and be vigilant.
