mephnick
A lot of people are talking about Quenneville when Hakstol inevitably gets fired, but I honestly think AV is the answer in Philly.

gerry35
Seems like they are firing the wrong people. Hextall cleaned up Holmgren's big problems while drafting a lot of great prospects and now Holmgren wants to get aggressive again and go back into the same type of mess like the last time. Maybe Benning can pluck out a nice prospect or two from them for one of the vets on the team.

Read that as Cliff Fletcher. Thought he might be dead already. He isn't.

-Vintage Canuck-
Ron Hextall says there was no indication that he was going to be fired and that it was 20 seconds from the time he walked into Paul Holmgren’s office to the time he walked out unemployed. “I didn’t see this coming in any way,” Hextall said. “I was shocked. I was stunned, yeah.”
EP Phone Home
Paul Holmgren is the Kevin Lowe of the Flyers. Good ol boys club guy with 9 lives and even when he gets fired from the GM chair, gets a promotion to be the guy behind the scenes with MORE autonomy. Funny how these franchises are stuck the way they are. It’s too bad as I thought Hex was doing a great job building the team for a long window for the next decade. Now comes the knee jerking and rush job to make the playoffs. Aquaman make sure we don’t lose patience with our plan.
