The 67's have won 23 games in a row? Not to detract from DiPietro at all but what do they need him for?

2.56 GAA .911 SV% is surprisingly average for a goalie on that stacked of a team

Well they don’t but why not give your team the best chance to win? They upgraded in net. When it looks like you’re a favourite to win this year you sacrifice a little future to beef up your roster now.

Big price to pay for his services.  especially taking from his home and gf might be a rough transition

It was going to happen next year when he turned pro anyways.  I'm fairly sure he's not going to have an issue making that sacrifice for a chance at a Memorial Cup.  Fantastic news for his development, and shows just how good a prospect he is with the return he got.

The other team in on DiPietro was the London knights. This move was almost as much about keeping him away from the enemy.
