luongomyhero1
Pierre LeBrun mentioned on TSN: Insider Trading that the Flyers are not only looking to get a goalie, but also a veteran d-man for their young blue liners. Here's my proposal: (baking on a lose for Hughes season btw) PHI: Jacob Markstrom, Alex Edler at 50% retained (Waives NTC for playoff push on expiring contract) Van: Phillipe Myers, Top-10 protected 2019 1st round pick, 2020 3rd round pick. (Maybe add Neuvirth as a cap dump if needed.) Philly gets a capable starting goalie with term and a stabilizing veteran defenseman who can play PK and PP. The retention just give them more space to make one more addition if they choose... which I assume they want to, especially considering they said they're making a push this year. Myers is a 21- year-old six-foot-five Right-shot defenseman. He plays well in all zones of the ice and is currently with their AHL affiliate (Lehigh Valley Phantoms). - 5-10-15 in 21 games played. - Can anchor our PP after shipping out Edler. Then, of course, we get the draft picks with will help stock the cupboard, or at the very least give JB more lucrative trading assets. NOW Once Healthy Goldobin - Horvat- Virtanen Beartschi- Horvat- Virtanen Lievo- Petterson - Boeser Goldobin- Petterson- Boeser Roussell- Gaudette- Eriksson Roussell- Sutter- Eriksson Granlund- Beagle- Motte Lievo- Beagle- Granlund Hutton - Gudbranson Pouliot- Tanev (potentially call up Joulevi )DelZotto- Stetcher (start Myers in AHL) Demko Nillson Flame away. qwijibo
Nobody is looking at Markstrom as an upgrade on their goaltending.
Nucker 67
I like it a lot, but I can't see Benning trading our best Dman and starting goalie. I'm not sure Edler waives to go to Philly for the winter.

Have you seen Philly's goaltending? Alex Auld would be an upgrade right now.

A tad presumptuous to make blanket-assertions for 30 GM's?..the HockeyGawds are surely worried you'll take over their gig!
Nucker 67
I wonder if they would want Del Zotto back.

It’s not rocket science. Markstrom isn’t a legit starter. He’s never lived up to the hype of his early career and he likely never will. He’d excel as a backup. But no team should be looking st him as the answer to their goaltending woes. Philadelphia included.

I don't think Edler 32 would wave his NTC to play for Flyers... Edler will wave his NTC at trade deadline for Tampa Bay and play with Headman and have a chance for cup.. Return player either Foote D 20, 6'5 or Cernak D 22, 6'3 both are high prospects..

And Edler is not waving for a crappy team. Philly are worse than us this year. Totally unrealistic imo.
