fecklund
His dad is former NHL goalie Darren Eliot. (played a number of games for LA, DET, and BUFF in the 80's) Here is a cool 2 part mini doc: Also, he is 190lbs not 160. There was a poster on reddit - allegedly a Sting fan - who compared him to Niklas Kronwall. https://www.reddit.com/r/canucks/comments/a6bj73/comparable_to_prime_kronwall_according_to_a/ He also attended the Hurricanes summer camp this year:
Provost
I not sure I get the concern from some folks. With him sighed we still only have 46/50 contract spaces with lots of expiring contracts that we might not re-sign or qualify. A quick look at Capfriendly only shows 6 non-roster D signed in the organization. Hughes makes 7. Edler probably comes back and Del Zotto doesn’t. Pouliot may be moved on and one or two of the guys on the farm promoted next season for the 7/8 spots. Lots of space for D prospects in the organization, and that doesn’t even include any possible trades of Tanev or Hutton.
Grape
As a UM guy all I remember was he was a bum at MSU and left the team early which was hilarious . Looks like he did the right thing. Cool that we have him now though will be rooting for him.
GB5
Certainly worth the shot at another RHD prospect, even if he is a long shot, it provide competition at that spot. Hopefully Brassard gets signed as well
krutovsdonut
our left shot prospect depth includes hughes, juolevi, sautner, mceneny and tryamkin. compared to that list, eliot and chatfield are very longshot right hand shot prospects. so i think brassard gets signed unless it is obvious he can't even play in the ahl. Fwiw McEneny will be a UFA at the end of this season unless they agree on a contract before. He's a so-called group 6 UFA where he will be 25 and hasn't played in 80 NHL games. cyoung
Just get the sense that this will potentially have an impact on the potential signing for Brassard. Maybe it will spark him up a bit, he hasn't as big of a break out season as I thought he would (not saying he's been bad by any means).

Just go out and get a FA with the skill and talent of Panarin. Fire Green too so FedorFederov can stop talking about firing Green.

Each of the last 6 years. Absolutely we need 11 to 13 D signed. Utica also needs the support! Add to it the rarity of Right handed shots making this worthwhile. Hopefully a combo of Oli Juolevi, Evan McEneny, Ashton Sautner, Guillame Brisebois, and/or Jalen Chatfield end up with the Canucks next year for some extended stretches. (Ashton/Evan/Guillame/Oli have the best chance of replacing Pouliot/Del Zotto/Biega internally next season and/or late this season). Front runner being Oli and Quinn on the roster and Ashton/Evan as depth pieces. That'll free up some Utica room for a guy like Mitch Eliot to come in (as well as Matt Brassard who I'm pretty sure will get an ELC before June). That still leaves some room for another young d-man to come in and get signed. Won't be shocked if the Canucks sign a UFA College D-man in March, Heck, maybe even a KHL and/or Euro free agent will join the fold too... I also wouldn't be surprised if the Canucks ink Kristoffer Gunnarsson to an ELC by season's end.
