That's exactly it. Stage one is out patient care; councilling, AA meetings, team psychiatrist, etc. If that isn't effective, stage 2 is inpatient rehab.

 

I hope they take a look at that in the next CBA. Offer stage 2, not as a disciplinary action, but as a treatment option. Like a player who has an injury and they try physio, but if that isn't effective they move to surgery. Put the player on LTIR while they're in rehab, they can call them "not medically cleared to play" and not suspend them.
