It's doing exactly that. You lost your job, learn a new trade.

no it isn't. Actual advice doesn't come in snippy 3 word phrases. Its a troll job, nothing more. And I suspect you are trolling yourself. If you aren't, you have a lot to learn about social skills, career paths, and programming.

edit - yup, as if it wasn't obvious enough just by looking, this is a 4chan originated troll job

Got Milk? Trolls!

How am I trolling myself? How does one do that?

How did this become offensive, abusive or triggering? I learned to code when  I was 15. Never thought I would see journalists being 'triggered' by the term. They are banning people on Twitter for saying those three words. Quite a time we live in. Any other coders in here?

You are on the soft and lame side of Twitter. I can’t even open Twitter up in public, too risky. Now Twitter is a &^@#ed up app, you see it all on Twitter.

Some funny memes and videos. However, there are times where I’ve seen a dude cut off the head of a cheater, just yesterday I saw a full thread on SIMS porn and I see daily offensive $&!# and nothing happens to the poster. Twitter users don’t play around, they literally forced Demi Lovato to delete her account the other day.

I'm participating? Wow, 4chan is amazing. How did they recruit me?

If you aren't consciously playing along then you were dragged in by your lack of understanding about internet culture combined with a lack of empathy.

Is that real? Saying "learn to code" is repressing journalists (or possibly ex-journalists in this case). That is some mighty soft repressing

Its not repressing anything. That's silly. Its just being a dick. Don't know where you get the impression that being laid off means they are ex journalists. You are aware that people can look for another job in the same field when they lose their job aren't you?

Lose your job?  Take control of your own life and learn a new skill that's in demand.

-or- get another job in the same field, or a job that has a similar skillset. The journalism industry hasn't vanished, and neither has writing.
