Warhippy
That's a pretty solid pick up. Hagelin is no playoff slouch. Decent price to pay too.

Edler is our longest serving player. Hagelin wasn't going to re-sign with the Kings. Edler is likely to re-sign with the Canucks. The Kings are not in a playoff race. The Canucks are, and even if they don't make it, being competitive this late in the season is a lot of value for our young competitors. Most importantly, Hagelin does not have a NTC. Edler does and has no desire (from all reports) to waive it.

LA retaining 50% salary and cap as well only makes it worse. If all we can get for Edler is a 3rd round pick, I rather just keep Edler.
Bruce Boudreau
This guy is the new Jannik Hansen. Has speed to burn. Should fit in well with the ex Penguins on the Capitals who have a chance to stick to Pittsburgh again in the playoffs. Apparently Smith Pelley was too fat. Harvey Specter
I think the Hagelin acquisition is pretty good at the price that the Caps paid, in addition to the 50% retained salary. As others have mentioned, he has good speed and can slot in the Top 9 without any issues; most likely will be playing 3rd line minutes with special teams while offering 2nd line flexibility if any of the usuals have a rut in their play down the stretch He will be wearing his familiar #62 as well
Gaudette Celly
So essentially Pearson for a low 3rd and conditional future 6th. Seems kinda meagre for a 40-point player.
