Taveras being serenaded with Boo’s and a steady chant of “We Don’t Need  You! “

I was trying to figure out what they were saying...man they have a major hate on for him. The building is so loud its crazy. Would love to see these to match up in the playoffs, the building is electric

The Islanders crowd collectively took a huge dump on Tavares. I don't condone some of the antics but I understand where they are coming from.

The one thing I hate is the Toronto media people telling them to 'get over it' and yada yada. Just feels like they are so caught in their own bubble that they have no problem getting up on their high horse now that JT is a Leaf.

JT was well within his right to go wherever he wanted but after being told all year he loved it on Long Island, didn't want to be traded & was leaning towards re-signing Islander fans have a right to feel betrayed.

People here still hate Kesler & as much as it sucked that he limited our options, I've never really blamed him for wanting out.

I’ve seen Leafs fans on Facebook talking about how classless NYI fans are and telling them to get over it. This coming from the same fan base that has:

- has thrown countless jerseys on the ice

- worn bags on their heads at games

- thrown waffles at Kessel

- made fake twitter accounts to threaten/harass James Reimer after the game 7 collapse

- continued to boo Jake Gardiner on his home ice for a bad game he had last season

Kettle, meet pot. I wonder how they treat Matthews in his return to Toronto after he walks in free agency.

If it wasn't divisional playoffs there would have been a much better chance of Leafs/Islanders in the playoffs. Hope we get it at some point, would be an amazing series.

Unfortunately it’s unlikely we see it this year seeing as Boston absolutely owns Toronto.

Yeah its hard any year with the current format. Atleast we likely see the Leafs eliminated quickly. Maybe one day we'll get Islanders/Leafs

I’m kinda torn between wanting to see Boston run roughshod on Toronto in the first round and watching a Leafs/Islanders series.

Yeah thats a good point. I think I'd take Leafs/Islanders. Get a crazy series & see Boston eliminated. Only problem would be the Leafs move on but I don't think they can beat Tampa anyways if they get through NYI.

Meh, I can’t say I hate Boston like I used to. I’ve kinda grown to like them for the sole reason that they beat Toronto with regularity. And I respect the way they successfully retooled.

I suspect you’re right, and Toronto wouldn’t stand a chance with Tampa should they even advance past the first round but I think more than anything I’d like to see them lose in the first round.

Tavares had every right to leave. The problem was that he specifically told Islanders fans that he never imagined playing for any other team.

Then he posts a photo of himself at age whatever as a Leafs fan.

I think the dishonesty is what would rub people the wrong way. If he simply said he wanted to go play for his hometown team, I'm sure some people would be pissed but could at least respect his decision.
