Exhibit A: Jesse Puljujärvi (patience)

Meh different situations.

JP represented a very high pick they couldnt afford to give up.

Dahlen was just an okay prospect not really blowing any one away in the AHL.

Patience paid off for San Jose but I’m not gonna lose sleep over it considering we easily replaced him with Hoglander.

Is Höglander really a replacement of Dahlen though? Nils has 3 assists in 9 games and a 0.5 ppg player last season. Dahlen has 6 pts in 8 games with 4 being goals.

If anything Höglander is more of a Top 9 forward while Dahlen is a top 6 forward with a bigger upside when it comes to scoring goals

Those are all things that remain to be unseen. Hoglander is 3 years younger then Dahlen?

Dahlen is getting an opportunity in San Jose because of lack of depth.

Could be at least 2-3 years before this is even an argument

Kind of a small sample size there no?

Let me know after 82 games whether he’s a top 6 forward.

Thats the thing. I wish we were patient yenno. There was nothing wrong with him going back to EU and letting him develop there.

Sadly communication isn't Benning's strong suit. There's already stories about Benning not communicating well with players especially in these kinds of talks.

Dahlen came to a smörgåsbord playing with Couture and Meijer.

Put Höglander with those two and he would at least have a lot more assists.

lol.. if you put it that way. Anything can be argued away. There's no harm to have both Dahlen / Hoglander so that false arguments breaks down right there. Lost this trade pretty badly, accept it lol.

According to Benning Dahlen asked for the trade. And considering we've allowed other players to return to Europe after playing in NA, it really doesn't seem like Dahlen gave us the option.

Which is why it's pointless to keep bumping this stupid thread. If ya'll want to keep annoying people here with constant reminders of "the one that got away" it would make far more sense to go bump the McCann of Forsling threads.

I’ve been called Dahlens mother so it’s good that you balance the scale B)

Well, Benning said that Dahlens agent said so.
A lot of people say that someone said something but Dahlen said ge didn’t wanted a trade. He wanted a change… But since a lot of people here misundrrstand what I say it might be just a misunderstanding from a GM that isn’t exactly an intelligent GM.
