Team Analysis

Canucks

Top 5 Scorers:

  • Elias Pettersson: 26G-30A-56P in 53GP
  • Bo Horvat: 23G-259A-48P in 64 GP
  • Brock Boeser: 21G-22A-43P in 51 GP
  • Antoine Roussel: 8G-20A-28P in 59GP
  • Nikolay Goldobin: 7G-19A-26P in 54 GP

Who’s Hot:

  • Elias Pettersson: 10 points (3G, 7A) in his last eleven games, and 5 points in last 6 games.
  • Bo Horvat: 3 goals in his last four games, and broke the Canucks most recent power play slump against Anaheim on February 25th, 2019.
  • Brock Boeser: 5 points (2G, 2A) in his last six games, as well as the game-winning shootout goal against LA on February 14th, 2019.
  • Alex Biega: 5 points (1G, 4A) in his last six games while posting a +6 and averaging 17:50 of ice time in that span.
  • Jacob Markstrom: Despite only going 2-2-2 in his last six, he has maintained a 92.5% and a 2.33 GAA, including his first shutout of the season.

Who’s Not:

  • The 4th line: Despite managing good defensive numbers, Loui Eriksson, Jay Beagle, and Tyler Motte are all on an 12 game pointless streak.
  • Ben Hutton: Gone 8 games without a point, in spite averaging approximately 27:30 in ice time during this period.
  • Markus Granlund: Scored only 1 assist in his last ten games.

Who to Watch for:

  • Antoine Roussel: Scored 5 points (2G, 3A) in his previous 6 games, including a couple of beautiful back hand passes. Watch for his underrated play-making ability to be a factor in his next game.
  • Josh Leivo: Broke a 6 game pointless streak with 1 assist vs Anaheim and the game-tying goal versus Colorado. Watch for him produce much needed secondary offense after scoring 6 points (3G, 3A) in his last 9 games.

Sick Bay:

  • Sven Baertschi: Post-concussion syndrome, no timetable for return, although has been skating as of February 25th, 2019.
  • Alex Edler: Concussion, should be slated for a return sometime at the beginning of March.
  • Brendan Sutter: Groin injury, should be slated for a return some time at the beginning of March.
  • Chris Tanev: Ankle injury, return is undetermined.
  • Jake Virtanen: Fractured rib, was placed on injured reserve February 14th, 2019, and is out for at least a month.

Arizona

Top 5 Scorers:

  • Clayton Keller: 12G-28A-40P in 63 GP
  • Alex Galchenyuk: 14G-21A-35P in 53 GP
  • Derek Stepan: 13G-19A-32P in 63 GP
  • Oliver Ekman-Larsson: 8G-23A-31P in 62 GP
  • Vinnie Hinostroza: 10G-15A-25P in 53 GP

Who’s Hot:

  • Alex Galchenyuk: 9 points (5G, 4A) in his last 9 games.
  • Derek Stepan: 8 points (2G, 6A) in his last 8 games.
  • Lawson Crouse: Currently on a 3 game point streak, having scored 2 goals and 1 assist during this period while adding grit with 19 hits in that same span.
  • Darcy Kuemper: Helping to keep the Coyotes playoff dreams alive with 7 wins (including a shutout win over Toronto) in his past 8 starts, while maintaining a 934Sv% and 2.0GAA during that span.

Who’s Not:

  • Brad Richardson: Since returning from injury on February 14th, 2019, has only scored 1 goal in the past seven games.
  • Nick Cousins: Cooled down since scoring 7 points (1G, 6A in 7GP) during the first half of February. Has only scored 1 assist since February 14th, 2019.
  • Jordan Osterle: After a hot first half of February (2G, 4A in 7GP), has only scored one assist in the 2nd half.

Who to Watch for:

  • Clayton Keller: After going 6 games without a point between February 12th and February21st, has scored 2 points (1G, 1A) in his last two games. Watch for him to contribute some much needed offense to this group.
  • Oliver Ekman-Larsson: Currently on a 3 game point streak, with 4 points (1G, 3A) in his last five games, while averaging approximately 24:18 minutes of ice time, including a season high 28:55 TOI last game vs Florida.

Sick Bay

  • Nick Schmaltz: Lower body injury, expected to miss the rest of the season.
  • Michael Grabner: Eye injury, will miss an undetermined length of time.
  • Jason Demers: Knee injury, expected. to miss the rest of the season but may return sooner than anticipated.
  • Antti Raanta: Lower body injury, expected to miss the rest of the season.
  • Kyle Capobianco: Lower body injury, expected to miss the rest of the season.

A Blast from the Past!

Enjoy the overly extensive reading!

Going to miss the 1st period, probably because of the Islanders vs Leafs game.

Gonna be exciting to see the amount of boos and tomfoolery that's going to occur tomorrow in Tavares's return.

LOL

this game is the season, lose this and it's over, no playoffs... so i'd expect them to come out like a bat out of hell and pounce on the Yotes early.

lol they did that last time too.. except coyote only needed to play 20 mins and they still win lol.. coyotes are hot winning 4 straight

Also, Alex Biega is putting up the points like crazy recently. In his last 6 games, he has 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points.

His compete level is really high. Don't see how he gets scratched again.

If we win this, we're back in the playoff hunt... Hope the boys do their best.

Hopefully Demko gets in for this one.  Marky deserves the night off after last night.

You bet, a lot of shots and all but two stopped.  The last thing the team needs is losing their MVP goalie down the stretch becuase of overplaying him.  Back to back games are what the back up is for, and ARI isn’t TB either...look forward to seeing how Demko does.
