I'm not so into the ufa market but there is one rfa I'd like to aggressively pursue should he make it to July (I think it's very possible).

Jacob Trouba.

Talk about a player that ticks a lot of boxes.

1. Defenseman

2. Right side shot

3. Produces points

4. Plays a very physical style

5. Great in the dzone

6. At 25 yrs of age, is still a long term solution

Winnipeg is going to have cap issues. They have a lot of high-end talent that need new contracts, Trouba included. It's going to be virtually impossible to keep everyone without players taking discounts.

Add to this, Troubas relationship with Winnipeg being tenuous in nature; He may welcome a fresh start.

With all the young talent we have coming, Trouba could come to a situation where he'd be a leader, post-Edler, and would be a very important member of a revamped dcore.

I'd be willing to sacrifice a draft if we could get this guy.

I would applaud JB for, at least, making the attempt.

Karlsson would change this team. He'll be 29 when the season starts, but these are prime years. Benning could target a forward at the Draft, maybe Cozens? Would be great to trade off some of the deadwood too. The team would suddenly look a lot better.

Goldobin - Pettersson - Cozens

Leivo - Horvat - Boeser

Pearson - Gaudette - Virtanen

Roussel - Beagle - Motte

MacEwen

Edler - Karlsson

Hughes - Tanev

Hutton - Stecher

Sautner

Juolevi

He blocks shots without getting injured, would be a good mentor for Tanev.
