-Vintage Canuck-
The Panthers have decided against loaning Aleksander Barkov to Team Finland for the 2019 IIHF World Championships so that can take the time to rest for the 2019-20 NHL season. Granlund can still be an effective bottow six player, but feel that it may be timing to move on.

Regardless if he's here or traded, he likely doesn't want to get hurt before locking into some security.

He probably wants to maintain his status amongst the national team so in the future for bigger tournaments, he remains on the radar. Building on his resume is also beneficial to him. He seemed really bored when he was in concussion protocol, so he probably just enjoys the game too much to have a long summer off.

Since 2003-04, Crosby has failed to play in the postseason on two occasions... one of these instances was because he was injured. Definitely a good idea for the guy to take a rest. He basically carried the Pens into the playoffs.

I'll be disappointed if Demko doesn't win the starter position over those 2.
