I imagine it has more to do with Granlund not having a contract. Regardless if he's here or traded, he likely doesn't want to get hurt before locking into some security.

He probably wants to maintain his status amongst the national team so in the future for bigger tournaments, he remains on the radar. Building on his resume is also beneficial to him. He seemed really bored when he was in concussion protocol, so he probably just enjoys the game too much to have a long summer off.

Cayden Primeau is an AHL goalie.  Pickings were apparently a bit slim for the USA.  I'll be disappointed if Demko doesn't win the starter position over those 2. 

Schneider has had a nice bounce back season. I wouldnt be suprised if he was named starter.
