Ferland just took as 5-minute match penalty (kicked out of the game) for a targeted hit on Nic Dowd. I believe Ferland has also went goalless during the last 17 games of the regular season. Not sure he would be a good fit here, for what he'd cost.

That’s a pretty weak call by the refs. 5 minute and a game in the playoffs shouldn’t be called unless it’s absolute. Leave it to be sorted after the game if it’s 50/50.

That was a brutal call. Hit was through the body, not a headshot. Unfortunate Dowd was reaching but not intentional.

 

A 2 min penalty would be fine, 5 & a game is terrible.

I think the match call is fine likely won't be a suspension, but Ferland could have played the less recklessly. He came from centre that is far from a brutal call.

I thought it was a clean hit. Dowd might've gotten high sticked by a trailing Cane but I thought Ferland just leveled him with a clean hit.

There was head contact and he came from the other side of the ice. It was the right call.

I missed that hit earlier. Just saw it now. 

 

I'm a caps fan and want them to repeat as cup champs.

 

But that wasn't a 5 min and game. Wrong call. Should have been 2 min penalty. 

 

Ferland did skate across the ice to make that hit. But i domdon't t know. 5 mins plus game is a bit much 

 

Tie game so didn't make big impact on game.
