[Proposal] Time machine

Recommended Posts

I guess its time for an offseason thread. If you were a time traveller and could bring back players from any era in their prime as Canucks to build your ultimate Canucks team what would it look like? Where would they play in what roles remember youre building a team each line should complememt eachother.

Ill start.

Naslund EP40 Bertuzzi - imagine that

Sedin Sedin Tanti- The rw the Sedins never got

Bure Linden Mogilny- I didn't get enough in the 90s

Burr Kes Smyl- Super pest line because we are the Canucks

Ohlund Salo- Aint broke probably the best pairing in Canucks history.

Hughes Mitchell- The rush and the reach

Edler Babych- Just plain solid

Luongo

McLean But who will wear #1? They may need to fight to the death so we should make sure Richard Brodeur is ready to back up the victor. My money is on Kirk whooping Luongo's @$$

I’m tempted to build an all-star team like most others have done, but I want to do something a little different.  My team is based on two things:

1) Proven Chemistry

2) An actual team with 2 great proven scoring lines, 1 great two way line, and 1 shut down line.

3) Realism

4) Not having any glaring weaknesses

5) Each player being the perfect fit in said given role.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows

Naslund-Morrison-Bertuzzi

Erhoff-Edler

Jovanovaki-Salo

Are you asking for players that were at their best as Canucks or can people like Reinhart and Sundin who where declining as Canucks but were incredible for other teams?

Bure EP Mogilny...............................3 drivers, 3 scorers, and 2 great passers

Sedin Sedin Boeser..........................Stand right here Brock

Bertuzzi Naslund Rota..................... Rota was a hard worker, with more skill than Burrows

Smyl Horvat Linden..........................I stole this line from KnuckleHead.........good call!

Hughes Ohlund................................Mr clutch with the gambler

Salo Lumme ....................................No one would understand them.....great communication

Jovonoski Edler................................There would be some great hits

Babych..............................................Babych deserves to be here, but, I really want Snepts on the team....you need glue on a team

That would be my team if we were competing over an 82 game season + playoffs.

If it was a “one off” however, then I’d replace my 4th line with

Mogilny-Larionov-Bure
