I saw a story recently where they said Bloomberg was paying his campaign staff roughly three times what staffers for other candidates were making. Some of them even got NYC apartments to use while they are working on the campaign.

Still, I hope MB keeps spending like a drunken sailor. I'd really like to see an ad with that footage of Trump climbing the stairs to Air Force One with TP stuck to his shoe....

Or when he lost that fight against the umbrella

Probably not. But since I've never said anything for or against big money in politics, I'm not sure how it's relevant to what I posted.

not being critical of you, nor your post, but dems in general.

Your post was about huge spending , and Dems often talk about getting big money out of politics.  FWIW, democratic socialists are even more adamant about it.  Guess that position will get put on hold for a while.

I would guess that as long as Mike's wallet is open, the Dems are more than happy to have his support.

Yeah, I mentioned that one earlier.

Maybe a montage of his Greatest Hits....Umbrella, TP, staring directly into the eclipse.....

While those are all noteworthy. The All time champ will always be George Bush Sr. for vomiting into the lap of the Prime Minister of Japan.

It even has it's own Wiki page.

Do young voters care about the environment? I doubt Biden will appoint CC deniers to head up the EPA, or cut environmental regulations.....

That's only one example, but it alone should be enough.

did boomers care about the environment back in the day? what are the boomers giving up now in the name of the environment?

Sorry Jim, I just re-read your post....I thought you were asking how it would be better than if Trump were re-elected.

If you really cared about deficit spending, you wouldn't elect a republican.

To be fair, Regan did explode the deficits but he got a lot of bang for his buck. GDP was rocking back then. Obama did get it down to 600 million but in between there were a few whopper deficits as well.

Because old white guys have had their shot....

And a black woman would make any difference? Would she be able to plow through the unwillingness of the GOP? The Republican party has proven in the last four years to be a party that places itself above the country it operates in.

Most anyone who's made it to the position has been bought and sold by lobbyists for years leading up to the election. In the end, the person, regardless of their pigmentation, is more than likely just a mouthpiece for the entities that helped to finance their campaign.

What they look like is superficial and far less important than what they truly believe, and what they do with their position, unbeholden to companies with money to burn.

And this has something to do with my post... how?

But, since you bring it up, I do care about deficit spending.  I am quite disappointed with how the GOP has done in that regard since I moved here.  I am also aware that it is the House that is in charge of spending.

just seemed like a good segue. A lot of :frantic: on this thread about Bernie being a "commie" and will spend money like a drunken sailor.... and yet the GOP.....

If you say so, but by that attitude, why vote for anyone?

It's just my belief that a government should be representative of the populace as a whole. You're free to disagree with me.

I'm going to disagree with the masses here, who believe that the Dems are "screwing" Bernie....

I don't find it at all surprising that the centrists who dropped out are supporting the centrist who's still in the race. Nor do I find it surprising that the Democratic caucus prefers the less radical candidate, when most agree that Job 1 is getting rid of Bone Spurs.

People are allowed to support their preferred candidate. Whether or not you like their reason for doing so is immaterial.

When the race started I donated to Yang campaign, I liked the guy. I also was pleasantly surprised with Pete and Amy's performance. Once it got down to

BS and JB i got behind the guy that is more electable and appeals to wider voter base imo. Now i am going to get texts from Biden to donate more money, which i already did several times.

I see it more as the dem's screwing U30s. Obama/Biden didn't do much for them, Biden/? will do even less if by some miracle he wins.

Bernie's campaign has been financed solely on donations, correct?

That's pretty impressive.

I believe so, but there may be some PAC money in there too I'm not sure. He's certainly not bought by any corporate $.

"just beat Trump" seems like such a cop out. How about lets change things for our kids?
