[Proposal] Van - Pits

Recommended Posts

To Vancouver

22nd overall pick in the 2019 draft

Hornquist

Almeida

Pitsburgh

2020 first round pick no lotto protection

Chris Tanev 50% retained

Adam Gaudette

We get another top fwd. A prospect from bc at draft and another pick .

Pitsburgh rolls the dice on us sucking and getting a lotto pick. Potentially 2 chances if they lose too. And they shed some cap add another D they liked Guddy. They could turn 1 bad year into another cup in 3.

Yet another proposal  heavily slanted in Vancouvers favour.  Imagine that.

We roll the dice. If we suck Pits gets a great player to slot in. If we barely miss pits moves up 5-6 spots.

They get gaudette who might yield with their offense. A better player they can pick at 22 this year.

They trade their guys like kessel and hornquist all the time

Id say heavily slanted in Pittsburgh's favour

22nd overall pick in the 2019 draft <<< 2020 first round pick no lotto protection

Hornquist = Chris Tanev 50% retained

Almeida < Adam Gaudette

Pittsburgh already traded this years 2nd,3rd and 4th round picks. Them trading this years 1st will take something they actually need. Hornquist is worth at least as much as Tanev.  Almeida was the 3rd leading scorer in the WHL this year.  They likely end up getting more scoring out of him down the road than they do Gaudette (who is looking rather offensively challenged in the NHL). A chance that they get a higher 1st a year from now doesn’t seem like enough incentive to Pittsburgh

I’d say Almeida > Gaudette

Hard to say since Almeida hasn't played in the NHL yet, at least we know Gaudette can hold his own. Gaudette was top in scoring in his league at around the same age and won the Hobey baker. I would give the win to Gaudette.

No because they would be trading the 22nd pick for potentially better which they need more. And after getting swept the chance of them missing wildcard is higher so a GM could get 2x the chance to move up.

And both are good offensive prospects. Guadette further down the line of development. I wish we had taken Almeida with a 3rd but has high bust potential imo

Gaudette is looking a lot like Jacob De La Rose. Definitely an NHLer. But a bottom 6 guy who brings very little in the way of offence

Calm down it was his rookie season, it took Kesler 5 seasons (4th NHL season) after he was drafted to break 30 points in the NHL.

Gaudette looked good all year and is projected to be a really good third line center who can step into the Top 6 if needed.

You trash literally every proposal involving the Canucks so everyone should take what you say with a huge grain of salt. Saying Gaudette is looking a lot like Jacob de la Rose is one of the most ridiculous comments I’ve ever seen. Gaudette’s a year younger and had more points than Rose in less games.

This.... So tired of CDC'ers using projections to determine a players current value. Everyone wants to get better, no one wants to trade a single player of any value. News flash, any trade should sting a bit because we are offering value or projected value.

You should also get something of value back not Hornquist and Almeida.... especially if you are giving away a non lottery protected 1st round draft pick, which you should never do ala Ottawa.
